* "[[RealSongThemeTune I Don't Wanna Be]]" by Gavin [=DeGraw=], [[http://youtu.be/MVzouDIg5Nw as heard during the Grand Finale.]] The show launched Gavin's career.
* The use of Music/LedZeppelin's "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" over the final scenes of the Season 3 finale. A scene that was already tense and heartbreaking is doubly so due to the haunting nature of the song's ending over the final shot: [[spoiler: Haley's Crackerjack bracelet drifting to the top of the pond, as Nathan has dived in to the submerged limo to save Cooper and Rachel, and is rapidly running out of air]]. The use of the music was also momentous: prior to this episode, Music/LedZeppelin had never before licensed their songs for network television. The only time it had happened before was on cable, for ''Series/TheSopranos''. Not only was the music awesome, it was history-making!
* While not history-making, the use of "[[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MsdhGt1i-4 Sugar We're Going Down]]" by Fall Out Boy does qualify.
* "Loaded Gun" by Tyler Hilton. The performance of the song in the series finale is the SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome of Hilton's character, Chris Keller.
* The very last song on the show? "One Tree Hill" by Music/{{U2}}, a song which the band ''never'' let people licence.
