* Charlie protecting Patrick from Brad and his friends and single-handedly taking down two of the jocks in the cafeteria.
** Especially noteworthy considering he's a recluse freshman who is not seen doing anything violent the entire time we see him. Once he sees Patrick getting beaten up, and Sam being shoved to the ground trying to save him, he jumps in without a second thought, fends off two senior football players at the same time, and caps it off with this line:
---> "Touch my friends again and I'll blind you."
** In the book, Charlie says his brother taught him how to win a fight. He apparently did a good job.
* Great Uncle Phil and his friends beating up his sister's abusive husband in a bar so badly he ''died'' four days later.
* Candace's reaction to her brother calling her. She immediately realizes what was going to happen and thinks quickly, despite her own fear, telling her friend to send the cops to her house.
* RealLife moment for Creator/EmmaWatson who helped get the film adaptation made. Writer-director Stephen Chbosky:
-->"She flew into L.A. and she had tons of meetings and she’s being offered everything. She’s turning down everything. And she would go to the heads of studio and say, 'Make THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER', and no one would. She finally had dinner with Erik Feig of Summit, and he was finally like 'Okay, you want me to make PERKS. What is it about, this movie?' She says, 'I think this would prevent someone from killing themselves, and that’s why I want to do it.' That girl, at that dinner, she came to town and she got it done. She was 21 meeting with heads of studios going, 'Make THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER.'"
