* The dragon! The fact that it's a Shapeshifting shapeshifting near-invincible behemoth doesn't hurt.
** Heck, it technically wasn't defeated by Richard so much as it was temporarily inconvenienced by the beanstalk speaks volumes of how virtually untouchable it is.
* Initially in the story, Horror was the book Richard was the most reluctant to befriend out of the three, representing his fear. As the story progressed, he comes to see Horror more and more like the friend he's not leaving behind, which indicates his growing courage. After returning to the real world, he asks the librarian to check out the three books. When the librarian says he can only take 2 and removes horror, this can be seen as the Pagemaster testing Richard. Because faced with this dilemma, Richard insists he promised to check out Horror, signifying he's come to bravely embrace even the scariest aspects of his imagination. Talk about CharacterDevelopment!
* Richard going over the bike jump at the end. James Horner's SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic definitely helps make this one.
* Even after Richard's been eaten by the dragon, he keeps his head and finds a way out by opening up the Literature/JackAndTheBeanstalk book, and using it to escape.
