* Bebop and Rocksteady prove to be quite the adaptational badasses. How much so? They screw up their first official mission so badly that Karai tries to have them killed and ''can't manage it''. She's forced to conclude that keeping them as DumbMuscle is the only realistic option.
* Facing down the global threat of Krang and the extremely personal and imminent threat of Shredder, the turtles nearly fracture as they argue over which to prioritize. Then Donatello conspires with Leonardo behind Splinter's back to invoke EvilVsEvil by setting them against each other, leaving the turtles to take down the technodrome without fighting Krang's army and weakening the Foot at the same time.. If it hadn't been for [[SpannerInTheWorks Baxter Stockman]] [[GambitPileup trying to betray everyone for his own ends]], it would have worked without a hitch.
* Issue #4 of the Mutanimals mini-series: Old Hob manages to make Madame Null back down with one ''hell'' of a BadassBoast regarding the fact that while his little team of mutants can't take down a multinational MegaCorp on their own, they can definitely make the business of mutant experimentation ''very expensive''.
* The Gauntlet. An ancient TrialByCombat ritual to resolve irreconcilable feuds. The turtles first face off against the foot mutants, crippling two in the process, and then collectively face Shredder while Splinter meditates on their shared weakness before stepping up himself with a WoundedGazelleGambit hidden inside a TheReasonYouSuckSpeech that leaves Shredder defeated and [[VillainousBreakdown confused]] before deciding to FaceDeathWithDignity.
* Issue #2 of the Macro-series: Michelangelo, who'd been unwilling to take up arms against an [[SlowlySlippingIntoEvil increasingly ruthless Splinter]] during the Triceraton Invasion, finally faces off against his father. In the earlier fight, the three other Turtles got utterly demolished by Splinter. In this one, Michelangelo ''by himself'' actually holds his own for a while and lands several solid hits. He may be the fun goofball of the team, but when he has a reason to take things seriously for a change...
** What makes this extra awesome is that Mikey's hard stand ''finally'' [[HeelRealization gets through to Splinter]] and he reverses his earlier decision to train the orphans the turtles had brought to him as ChildSoldiers and instead declares that they will be taken in and raised to rejoin society instead.
* Macro-series issue #4: Captured by the EPF, drugged, tortured and shackled, Raphael breaks free through sheer willpower and rage, proceeds to wipe the floor with a LOT of EPF goons and escapes by diving into a frozen lake and through a pipe to a water treatment plant. He will ''not'' stay down, [[{{Determinator}} ever.]]
