* When Sylvester makes a ladder of store mannequin parts to get to Tweety on a ceiling light, he doesn't notice that Tweety is climbing down the structure himself. Suddenly, when Sylvester reaches the top, Tweety calls attention to himself at the bottom, revealing that he somehow got roller skates on the structure's feet. Then Tweety gives it to Sylvester but good by pushing the structure down a flight of stairs in a painfully loud crash.
* Any time that Sylvester actually gets the upper hand will usually have viewers cheering.
* In one of the two ''Literature/DoctorJekyllAndMisterHyde'' themed shorts he starred in, ''Sylvester'' gets to drink Dr. Jekyll's formula, becoming a massive monster cat who towers over the bullying bulldog Alfie, the spitting image of Sylvester's long-time nemesis Hector, and gets to beat him up repeatedly. Sadly, it's undermined by the formula wearing off whenever Alfie's small, annoying sidekick comes into the screen, who then beats up poor Sylvester.
* At the climax of ''WesternAnimation/ScaredyCat'', Sylvester, goaded by his conscience, decides ''not'' to abandon WesternAnimation/PorkyPig to the murderous mice, but instead stay and fight to protect his master, who has been TheLoad throughout the short. He initially grabs a tree-branch to use as a club... then changes his mind, comes back and ''[[TelephonePolearm uproots the tree instead]]'' before charging into the fray. He proceeds to beat the absolute tar out of the swarm of murderous mice... although, unluckily, he doesn't get to enjoy his rare moment of victory for long.
