* Marla [[http://retailcomic.com/comics/june-2-2013/ firing Courtney]].
** Even though she has to work long hours because of this, [[http://retailcomic.com/comics/january-15-2014/ Marla firing Josh counts.]] Note that Josh originally gave her a two-weeks notice, but Marla decides to just outright get rid of him after he bragged about lying to her and (at first) getting away with it.
* Cooper telling Josh [[http://retailcomic.com/comics/september-13-2013/ that nobody likes him]].
** Immediately following it up with [[BatmanGambit subtly convincing Josh to try to suck up to Marla like he did with Stuart, only to discover how much she hates that.]]
* One storyline had Grumbel's being forced to layoff employees due to massive budget cuts. Stuart, of course, planned on using this as an excuse to get rid of Cooper (even telling him to "[[{{Jerkass}} don't let the door hit your rear on the way out]]" when he gave him the pink slip). What happened next is that [[http://retailcomic.com/comics/january-22-2009/ Lunker flipped out]] and pretty much ''threatened'' Stuart into letting Cooper keep the job by splitting the hours. Stuart, scared shitless, agreed and immediately ran out. Lunker is probably the only employee at Grumbel's who has ever intimidated Stuart, but then again, Lunker's a huge, super-strong guy.
** Lunker has an off screen moment of awesome when faced with someone who was trying to rob the gas station he and Cooper were working at. The guy had a knife, yet ended up in hospital with broken ribs.
* Val takes a gamble on a customer who comes in just before closing [[http://retailcomic.com/comics/march-12-2008/ and promptly takes her picture and puts her on 'the list' when she comes out forty minutes later.]]
* Marla finally encounters [[http://retailcomic.com/comics/july-19-2009/ the perfect customer.]]
* Cooper has a surprising amount of talent [[http://retailcomic.com/comics/july-27-2012/ when it comes to building furniture.]]
* When a customer [[http://retailcomic.com/comics/december-15-2013/ stands up for Amber]] against a rude customer.
* When Stuart tries to take the shopping bags that Marla pre-ordered especially for the Christmas sales, to help the other stores that forgot, [[http://retailcomic.com/comics/november-21-2014/ Cooper makes sure he doesn't get all of them.]]
* When Amber is about to go on lunch break, [[http://retailcomic.com/comics/may-1-2016/ she comes up with an epic exit strategy to avoid any customers on the way.]]
* Marla [[http://retailcomic.com/comics/november-27-2016/ calling a customer's bluff]] when she threatened to "Never shop there again."
