* LadyMacbeth, even for her time, was and is a pretty new take on a female's role in drama. Her first words are some of the most famous parts of the play. She is the whole driving force behind the events of the play... even when those events are not particularly nice.
*
-->'''Banquo:''' ''[Looking to sky, talking to Fleance]'' It will rain tonight.
-->'''First murderer:''' Let it come down!
* "Burnam Wood to Dunsinane".
** The 2015 film adaptation has a twist on the "Birnam wood comes to Dunsinane" part. Instead of Macduff disguising him and his army with the forest, ''he burns the forest to the ground to cover his army's movement with the smoke and leave Macbeth with nowhere to hide''. Macduff causes the "forest of Birnam wood to come to Dunsinane" by ''setting it on fire'' (and the wind blows the forest's ashes to Dunsinane). Gotta give the man props for sheer tenacity here. It also lends itself to an awesome shot where Macduff walks out of the smoke to deliver the famous 'Turn, hell-hound, turn.' challenge to Macbeth.
* When Macbeth [[OhCrap realises that the weird sisters' final prophecies were misleading]] (Beware Macduff/"none of woman born shall harm Macbeth."/" Macbeth shall never vanquish'd be until Great Birnam wood to high Dunsinane hill shall come against him.") and he can actually be defeated.
** And even then, instead of having a HeroicBSOD, it just leads to... :
* Act V, Scene V, in which Macbeth resolves to kill every last sonuvabitch who attacks Dunsinane, even if he dies trying...
-->Arm, arm and out!\\
If this which he avouches does appear,\\
There is no flying hence, nor tarrying here...\\
Ring the alarum-bell! Blow wind, come wrack!\\
At least we'll die with harness on our back.
* Macbeth's last words:
-->I will not yield,\\
To kiss the ground before young Malcolm's feet,\\
And to be baited with the rabble's curse.\\
Though Birnam wood be come to Dunsinane,\\
And thou opposed, being of no woman born,\\
Yet I will try the last. Before my body\\
I throw my warlike shield. Lay on, Macduff,\\
And damn'd be him that first cries, 'Hold, enough!'
* Macduff fearlessly confronting Macbeth in the final scene, vowing to avenge his wife and children or die trying.
--> [[PreAsskickingOneLiner Turn, hell-hound, turn!]] ... \\
I have no words:\\
My voice is in my sword: thou bloodier villain\\
Than terms can give thee out!
* Macduff pointing out that he isn't particularly worried about the witches' prophecy, because "[[NoManOfWomanBorn Macduff was from his mother's womb untimely ripp'd]]".
** In the Australian version the line "Macduff was from his mother’s womb Untimely ripped" is turned into a PreMortemOneLiner.
* Act I, Scene II, when a nameless sergant describes Macbeth single handedly turning the tide of the battle, establishing the play as the tragedy of a [[FallenHero fallen hero]].
-->Doubtful it stood\\
As two spent swimmers, that do cling together\\
And choke their art. The merciless Macdonwald\\
Worthy to be a rebel, for to that\\
The multiplying villanies of nature\\
Do swarm upon him--from the western isles\\
Of kerns and gallowglasses is supplied;\\
And fortune, on his damned quarrel smiling,\\
Show'd like a rebel's whore: but all's too weak:\\
For brave Macbeth--well he deserves that name\\
Disdaining fortune, with his brandish'd steel,\\
Which smoked with bloody execution,\\
Like valour's minion carved out his passage\\
Till he faced the slave;\\
Which ne'er shook hands, nor bade farewell to him,\\
Till he unseam'd him from the nave to the chaps,\\
And fix'd his head upon our battlements.
** In the 2015-version, the scene cross cuts to the actual battle were Macbeth with Banquo's aid cuts his way to Macdonwald and chops off his head with a single cut.
* From the Patrick Stewart version, we have the Witches ''rapping'' their famous incantation. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WNicucFsYE No really]]. And it definitely counts as SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic.
* Though Lady Macduff doesn't get that much characterization, she does get a rather awesome moment where she stands up to the assassins come to kill her and her children and refuses to give up her husband:
-->'''First Murderer:''' Where is your husband?
-->'''Lady Macduff:''' [[DefiantToTheEnd I hope, in no place so unsanctified\\
Where such as thou mayst find him.]]
** [[DeathOfAChild Though the poor kid pays dearly for it]], Macduff's son shows great courage when he calls one of the murderers a liar after he says Macduff is a traitor.
