* The first fight of the series: as Masaki is explaining his friends about the characteristics of boxing we see a thug dragging a harmless-looking boy to the bathroom to rob him... And [[MuggingTheMonster the would-be victim beating the thug out]] with the exact one-two combo Masaki was describing, also establishing both [[EstablishingSeriesMoment the manga's tone]] and [[EstablishingCharacterMoment Yuu's character]] in a single scene.
** Yuu's victory becomes even more awesome when the thug is identified as Yagi, strong enough that, at the time, he was Sawakoh's boss. True, part of it was because Tsuchiya wasn't interested, but Yagi remained someone stronger than the average street thug.
* Kenji from Setasho is just an above-average thug... And the first guy to actually hold his own against the Thug Hunter, by being smart enough to ''grab the right strap of his backpack'' as an opening, thus neutralizing the one-two that was Yuu's only technique at the time by cutting it off after the jab. He still went down, as he couldn't physically compete with Yuu even normally, let alone after getting his nose broken by the first jab, but he's still the first to not only not being defeated in two hits (Yuu had to punch him multiple times to get free and go for the one-two), but got a few good hits in. No surprise that, after Yoshii's downfall, he'll take over his school...
* The fight betwen Yuu and Iwado has a moment each:
** Initially Iwado is caught by surprise and downed by Yuu's one-two. The other Setasho guys and Shin look in shock at Yuu's apparent and easy victory... Then Iwado stands back up, spits a tooth and some blood, attacks while [[NoSell taking everything Yuu throws at him]], and ''throws Yuu down like a ragdoll''. Even Yuu would later admit that Iwado would have won in that instant had his backpack not softened the blow... And even then, it was a close thing.
** Yuu managing to stand up after being violently thrown on the street and then hitting Iwado with a cross counter, winning and being the first to ever make Iwado lose consciousness.
** Iwado shows up more than a few times later in the manga, sometimes fighting multiple opponents. Yuu is the only one who has ever managed to even ''hit'' him, let alone knock him out.
* Shogo's fight against Tsuchiya. He's massively outweighed, his opponent is a wrestler with experience in taking down Karatekas... And he ''one-shots'' him with [[TapOnTheHead a hammer punch to the base of the neck]] the moment Tsuchiya tries a tackle. And he adapted that from the Karate tile-breaking exercise.
* For a long time Tsuchiya was on the receiving end of TheWorfEffect, with no real feat to back his apparent reputation, and in the True Arc he even finds himself chased by Yagi, the Inogaki brothers, and even Shougo... Then Tsuchiya spots a patch of grass, and Shougo ''refuses'' to engage him there, stating he's all but invincible there. The other three don't believe him... And find out the hard way that [[GeoEffects with terrain soft enough to scrape one's arms and knees on it without harming themselves Tsuchiya can use his full arsenal of wrestling techniques]] and put his enormous strength to full use. [[CurbStompBattle They're taken down in less than a minute]], and the Inogaki don't reappear ''at all'' - meaning they were either put in the hospital when [[GrievousHarmWithABody Tsuchiya threw one in the other's face]] and didn't get out in time for the last fights, or [[ShockingDefeatLegacy they didn't dare to show up again]].
* Late in the True arc, Izawa and his allies find themselves surrounded by almost King's entire gang and outnumbered, and start being overwhelmed... Then Iwado and Taka arrive on the scene, and [[BigDamnHeroes start breaking bones]]. The tide is turned ''immediately'', and [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere King decides to leave Shimokita]].
** Not cowed by the show of force, Tetsu decides to challenge Izawa in a duel. [[CurbStompBattle Izawa quickly picks apart his fighting style and utterly overwhelms him]].
* Shougo versus Ryuu. Shougo is weakened by the effects of the True addiction ''and'' withdrawal as he's decided to give up on it earlier that day... But has also ''finally'' got over his psychological blocks and to use all of Karate's techniques, including the most forbidden ones. [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown Ryuu goes down quickly with multiple broken ribs, a gouged eye, and a broken arm]], [[CatharsisFactor finding himself in the same situation as many of his past victims]].
** What Shougo does immediately after: first he goes to tell Yuu that Mai, that had been taken hostage to force him to take Ryuu's beating, has been already rescued by him, then the police arrives... And he tells them what had happened there ''and'' what he himself did, allowing them to cuff him without resisting. And it's implied ''he'' called the police, both as reinforcements in case Ryuu, Yagi and the others overwhelmed him and to turn himself in to pay for all his errors.
