* Devon auditions for and gains the role of P1, the only freshmen in A&T to achieve such a level. Not once does he look down at his music sheet during the audition ([[spoiler:which is one of the first clues that he can't read music]]) and even adds a little "something something" to the required piece.

* In their first performance as a band, Sean gets tired of Devon's mockery and challenges the freshman to perform Sean's drum solo, believing Devon will freeze up and embarrass himself. Devon not only takes Sean's challenge, he performs the solo flawlessly, having memorized the entire thing just by hearing Sean play it and seen his movements once.

* After getting kicked off the band for starting a fight at the homecoming game, Devon turns to Mr. Wade from Morris Brown for a place on their band next year. Wade agrees to get Devon a full scholarship and a position in his band if Devon can tell him Dr. Lee's performance plans for the BET Big Southern Classic. Devon doesn't know what Lee has planned [[EveryoneHasStandards but makes it clear that even if he did know, he wouldn't tell Wade and says that he personally hopes Lee kicks Morris Brown's ass]]. For all his flaws, Devon still has integrity and cares for the A&T band despite them expelling him.

* Devon helping Jayson win his spot on the field back from Jayson’s own roommate.

* The entire Southern BET Classic. Highlights include:
** Morris Brown bringing in rapper Perry Pablo.
** A&T’s performance.

* The final drum-off.
