''Lupin III: Princess of the Breeze'' [[note]]princess of the breeze ~隠された空中都市~ (''Purinsesu obu za Burizu - Kakusareta Kūchū Toshi'')[[/note]] is the twenty-fourth MadeForTVMovie in the ''Anime/LupinIII'' franchise. It debuted on November 15, 2013, with a western Blu-Ray release from Creator/DiscotekMedia set for release in 2024.

This year's ArtShift is rather interesting, including elements of the ''Anime/ReturnOfTheMagician'' OVA, a ''Anime/TheCastleOfCagliostro'' influence[[note]]the ending theme in this special is a new version of "Fire Treasure", originally from ''Cagliostro'', amongst other elements[[/note]], as well as newer art elements, such as shiny wet eyes in almost all of the characters.

Due to diminishing ratings, this was the last new [[Anime/LupinIIIYearlySpecials yearly special]] for six years, until 2019's ''[[Anime/LupinIIIGoodbyePartner Goodbye Partner]]''. [[note]]The special for 2015 was a ClipShow of three edited episodes from ''Anime/LupinIIITheItalianAdventure'' with some new framing animation.[[/note]]

The story opens in the Paris night. Shots switch around, showing the airship, the party, and the city below. Then a new airship arrives. It's a group of pirates that attack the ship, and knock out the guards. As two of them prepare to return to their ship, a guard has followed them up. The guard and one of the pirates fight, and we discover [[TheReveal the guard is Lupin III]] and the pirate [[SamusIsAGirl is a cutie]]! One slap later, and the pervert is falling off the airship, into the river.

'''Spoilers below!''' Don't read below if you don't want to know how this caper turns out!

!!This TV movie features examples of:

* BadassAndChildDuo: Jigen and Ramu.
* BadassCreed: The Shahaltan Royal Guard has one, which is repeated a few times during the movie.
-->"For the sake of your homeland, for the sake of your pride, spread your white wings and take flight! Darcel!"
* BigBad: Kochel, apparently the one behind Shion. [[spoiler: Actually BigBadWannabe when Shion shoots him and takes the lead near the end.]]
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Viler does this via seeminly hypnosis to both [[spoiler: Fujiko and Jigen]], forcing them to attack Lupin and Goemon. [[spoiler: As soon as he dies, the charm ends.]]
* CatchPhrase: Viler has one, which is almost usually followed by very bad things. "What color is your Karma?"
* ChekhovsGun: [[spoiler: Ramu's stomachache. Because he swallowed the MacGuffin. [[{{Squick}} And later poops it out.]]]]
* ChivalrousPervert: PlayedForLaughs when Lupin refuses to tell Yutika what she wants to know. So she screams, "Pervert!" at the top of her lungs. Cue Zenegata and dozens of police officers charging onto the scene repeatedly chanting: "Lupin the Pervert!" with Zenegata calling him, [[ThanksForTheMammary "Groper of Women"!]]
* CoolBigSis: Definetively Camilla for Yutika.
* ContinuityNod: A FreezeFrameBonus of a news article mentions [[Anime/TheCastleOfCagliostro Lupin's rescue of Princess Clarisse]].
* DisneyVillainDeath: [[spoiler: Subverted! As Kochel's about to fall to his death from the flying treasure vault, Zenigata pulls a BigDamnHeroes (sort of) and saves him to have him arrested.]]
* TheDragon: Viler, the creepy sickle-wielding magician working for Kochel.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: The first time Viler appears, Lupin and Jigen are escaping the Sky Pirates' hideout with Jiva, Camilla, Yutika and two more mooks who're left behind. Suddenly, a cut cry is heard and Lupin turns around just in time to see Viler, standing in the previously empty corridor, smashing the two pirate's heads in the wall while giving him a KubrickStare.
* {{Expy}}: The mooks's design vaguely calls to mind the one of the henchmen from The Castle of Cagliostro.
* FryingPanOfDoom: Camilla's method of dealing with Lupin or mooks.
* HenpeckedHusband: Implied with Camilla and Jiva.
* HeroicSacrifice: Jiva and shortly after Camilla pulls out a YouShallNotPass and TakingYouWithMe {{together|InDeath}} in order to stop the mooks from reaching Lupin and Yutika. [[spoiler: It ends up being a DisneyDeath for both them and the mole Bernard, surprisingly.]]
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Jiva. The Jerk is first seen when he berates Yutika, the heart of gold is shown later on.
* MarshmallowHell: Near the Climax, Fujiko falls on Lupin, landing boob first on his face, which gets him slapped by both her and Yutika. Bonus point to the Italian dub, as he actually says "Those felt like marshmallow!"
* MessyPig: Mister G's toilet house is right above his pigpen. Lupin later sics the pigs against the assassins coming after him.
* TheMole: [[spoiler: Sky Pirate Bernard, despite looking nice and friendly to Yutika, is this.]]
%%* MoralityPet: [[spoiler: Rasha to Shion.]]
* NavelDeepNeckline: Fujiko wears a red SpyCatsuit unzipped to the navel for most of the movie.
* NonIndicativeName: [[spoiler: There's no literal city floating in the sky, just one among very tall mountains though.]]
* PreMortemOneLiner[=/=]IronicEcho: [[spoiler: When Jigen kills TheDragon, with a tad little of PrecisionFStrike.]]
-->'''Jigen''': [[spoiler: "Which color is ''your'' Karma, asshole?" (headshot)]]
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Viler's left eye enlarges and turns completely red when he uses hypnosis. Also his victim's pupils turn red.
* RagsToRoyalty: [[spoiler: Yutika, of the Sleeping Beauty kind]].
* SamusIsAGirl: The pirate Lupin is fighting isn't revealed as a young girl until the end of the fight. Why does the fight end? Weaponized slap.
* ShoutOut: At one point, Jigen says [[Film/TheMatrix "Dodge this!"]] to a mook before shooting him at point blank range.
* SuspiciouslySpecificDenial: Yup, Goemon did not go all the way to Japan only to bring Ramu a Japanese toy and some konpeito (a Japanese candy). [[{{Tsundere}} Yup, he did not.]]
* SinisterScythe: Viler has some sort of wicked-looking sickle which can somehow control midflight and levitate at will.
* ThemeMusicPowerUp: The moment Lupin III gets his iconic [=SSK=], the classic theme starts to play.
* WorthlessTreasureTwist: After chasing {{Plot Coupon}}s made of gems, discovering an ancient lost treasure of gold, paintings, and technology, Lupin reveals the object that he'd been trying to steal. [[spoiler: A corkscrew. Granted, it's a gold corkscrew, but he was chasing it because it was a treasure that his grandfather had described, rather than the intrinsic worth of the object.]]
