* The European Platform/PlayStationNetwork isn't exactly known for its [[Platform/PlayStation PSOne Classics library]]. After months of teasing us by [[WallOfText (deep breath)]] publishing ''only'' either obscure games ("Future Cop L.A.P.D." anyone?), [[DisneyOwnsThisTrope Disney Licensed Games]] (''WesternAnimation/ToyStory2'' being the only aversion of TheProblemWithLicensedGames), and Classics that were not mainstream titles like ''Franchise/SpyroTheDragon'' (as of now un-re-released) but more like [[PacManFever Classics in every meaning of the word]] (''VideoGame/{{Pong}}'', ''VideoGame/{{Centipede}}'' and ''VideoGame/MissileCommand''), and, most infuriatingly, after publishing a perfectly working version of the previously [[GameBreakingBug withdrawn]] ''VideoGame/CrashBandicoot2CortexStrikesBack'' secretly (you literally got to look for it with the "search" option!) and ''taking it away again'', '''all of this''' always being vague instead of ever answering to Classics-related questions and complaints... Maurizio Quintavalle of SCEE made a bombastic [to us, upset for the Classics] announcement in his "3rd of November 2010 Store update": "Instead of the usual list, I'd like to make a point: some of the most wanted [=PSOne=] Classics have been said to be on their way to the Store. We're working on it, although there are no known release dates given the various technical -- and legal -- problems that have to be taken to account." Now it's a bit pathetic to say and says a lot about the European Store, but nonetheless, '''''BEST. UPDATE. EVER.'''''
* The Platform/PlayStationNetwork got hacked? All the Credit Card data and personal info stolen? And they promised that by May 6 they'll be back? They didn't! That's it, I won't trust Sony anym- WHAT'S THAT? Free 30 days of PS+? Free games for [=PS3=] and PSP (2 each)? Online system restored just this May 15? HELL YEAH!!! I don't care that the Store is still closed, let's get to ONLINE BATTLES, YEAH! For the US and the rest of the world, sure. Japan and Asia will have it back this end of May.
* On December 12 2012, the EU [=PSOne=] Classics selection was officially RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap. As well as the previously mentioned Franchise/SpyroTheDragon trilogy, we also got ''VideoGame/UmJammerLammy'', ''VideoGame/{{Tomba}} 2: The Evil Swine Return'', and ''VideoGame/CastlevaniaSymphonyOfTheNight''.[[note]]Even better, in the post announcing both Castlevania SOTN and Spyro, Jawad Ashraf of the European Playstation blog was ''really'' proud about this progress, to the point he was encouraging the demand of the other classics' long overdue re-releases: a far cry from the situation back in 2009, where the Classics' demand was seen as whining by blog users and, occasionally, by SCEE's own staff. It took a while, but SCEE ultimately realized that the demand of this kind of "retro" titles, while coming from a vocal minority, was just as important as the need of new releases.[[/note]]
* Sony seemingly studying and learning from Microsoft's blunders with the Xbox One have paid of at E3 2013, as they trounced their competition in almost every way possible! [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64s6XXakxkE Just listen to that reaction to the PS4's used games policy!]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6rSwfM849k Or the price!]]
* Sony's E3 press conference of 2015, where came out swinging with three of gaming's most wanted announcements: ''VideoGame/TheLastGuardian'' is out of DevelopmentHell and has a release date, ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII'' is getting a modern remake, and ''VideoGame/{{Shenmue}} III'' is on Kickstarter (with the publicity helping it reach its goal less than a day after the announcement).
* Oh, cool, Sony's showing off VR games. Huh, a series of [[VideoGame/StarWarsBattlefront2015 X-Wing flying missions]]? Cool, cool. Being able to play as Prompto from ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyXV''? Interesting, maybe not the main feature of the game. Hold on, is that... Is that Creator/MarkHamill as ComicBook/TheJoker? A ''VideoGame/BatmanArkhamVR'' game... developed by Rocksteady? I'm close to sold, but you have to sweeten the deal, Sony! Hold on, a VR-based horror game? Well, OK. Maybe I'd consider... Why does this look like ''[[VideoGame/SilentHills P.T.]]''? Well, it's not ''Silent Hills'' but it does look very- '''[[Franchise/ResidentEvil RESIDENT]]''' '''[[PrecisionFStrike FUCKING]]''' '''[[VideoGame/ResidentEvil7Biohazard EVIL VII?!]]''' Excuse me, guys... I'll be right back after I unleash my fanboy power!
* Sony held a [=PS5=] event in September 2021. Plenty of big news.
** The CultClassic ''VideoGame/KnightsOfTheOldRepublic'' is getting a remake.
** Not only is Insomniac working on [[VideoGame/MarvelsSpiderMan2 a sequel to]] ''VideoGame/SpiderManPS4'', but they're making an all new Wolverine game.
** We got our first look at ''God of War: Ragnarok'', and it is looking nuts.

* After years of following the traditional console manufacturer model of publishing games exclusively on their own platforms, Sony started porting some of their games to PC beginning with ''VideoGame/HorizonZeroDawn'' in 2020. They followed this up with ''VideoGame/DaysGone'' in 2021, ''VideoGame/GodOfWarPS4'' in early 2022, and last but not least, ''VideoGame/SpiderManPS4'' and ''VideoGame/SpiderManMilesMorales'' in the second half of 2022. Following strong sales of these ports, Sony has committed to releasing even more PC games in the future.
