!Murdoc's Abusive Childhood

It has been mentioned in this article that Mudoc had a verbally abusive father (AbusiveParents) who exploited him. But so far, nobody's mentioned that he was bullied by his clasmates (particularly Tony Chopper)and his teachers, and that he was apparently raped when he was nine. A real TearJerker.
It's really shocking and may make people see him more than /just/ a jerkass, or feel genuinely sorry for him for once... whether this justifies his crooked behaviour is, obviously, up to the viewer.
