Happens often with werewolves. A frequent point of humour in Buffy, for example, when Oz would wake up naked in a forest or something.

    The werewolf in An American Werewolf In London, as well.

    You'll probably get more examples if you look for aversions on Magic Pants

    • Played straight once on Animorphs, where Tobias just demorphed completely naked from red-tail hawk. For the rest of the series, they use skintight clothing to avoid this.
    • Many, many jokes about The Incredible Hulk revolve around this.

    Implied when one sees Empty Piles Of Clothing.

    ...where's the description? I see trouble if this is defined solely in terms of "aversion of Magic Pants".

    Video Games
    • The Arcade Game Rampage. When your character took too much damage it transformed back into a naked human being and walked offscreen.

    May overlap with Naked First Impression. Compare and contrast Naked On Arrival and Naked On Revival.

    On the Discworld, female vampires do this after transforming into bats or anything else, while males keep their clothes. Salacia complains about the unfairness of this, and suggests it has something to do with innate concepts of sex appeal.

    Can also overlap with Naked People Are Funny.

    @Stratadrake: I think it could work;

    • Magic Pants - Clothing is never damaged by transforming characters.
    • Inverted Magic Pants - Characters always have their clothing destroyed when they transform.
    • This trope - Situations where a character turns back after transforming (or perhaps "after transforming into a humanoid form" would be more inclusive) is in the nude.

    The main differences being that this trope covers a situation (rather than the nature of the clothing itself) where the character is basically stranded, naked making them a plot point, while Magic Pants (and inversions thereof) are an Acceptable Break From Reality (which have different effects on the narrative).

    • Also in Discworld, Angua (a werewolf) becomes the wrong shape to wear her clothes when she transforms into her wolf form (since her body changes, but nothing else). As with Salacia, she has to either carry clothing with her or stash it somewhere.

    • Bleach has Yorichi, who can transform into a black cat. When she turns back she's naked, leading to a running gag (starting with The Reveal that she was a shapeshifting woman) where she used this fact to make Ichigo uncomfortable.

    All of the werewolves in Wolves Of Mercy Falls Series have to deal with this any time they transform from wolf to human.
