Alice meets Bob for a date, and it's all going well enough when Charlie shows up. Charlie is part of the Masquerade, or at least a part of Alice's life that she hopes to quarantine from this date. So of course Charlie and Alice will have a conversation on one level, while Bob chimes in with his own mundane take on what's going on.

For extra fun, Charlie is a ghost and only Alice can see him, and if she ignores him he'll get very disruptive and scary. If he has the power to move things, Charlie potentially make things very dangerous.
