Blue and Orange Scenery

Any scene in a visual medium where the predominating colours are blue and orange

Name Space:
Page Type:
Blue goes so well with orange, let's use those colors as a background for our (often overly-dramatic) scene.

Not to be confused with Blue and Orange Morality which is about morals which are unrecognisable to humans, Blue And Orange Scenery is Exactly What It Says on the Tin. Background (and occasionally foreground) scenery and lighting designed to emphasise a scene using shades of blue and orange in order to make the scene more emotional and/or memorable.

Also, both examples are Against The Setting Sun.

Also, we have Color Contrast to cover this in general

I think this should be a subtrope of Color Contrast and could be a supertrope for Against The Setting Sun.

I'm not totally against changing the name to Orange Blue Contrast, but I first heard this expressed as "Blue and Orange Scenery". I was watching Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back along with the Darths & Droids people and they commented on the coloring of the Carbon Freeze Chamber in those exact words, so I presumed that it would be more likely to be known by that expression.

However I can see the merit of calling it Orange Blue Contrast, because the trope doesn't just apply to scenery. As in the Peter Pan example, it can apply to the foreground vs the background.

I'd be willing to discard the proposed trope if we can't get more than three examples. I've provided two already. I'm sure there must be more because it seems like such an obvious trope.

Errr... Orange Blue Contrast is already a trope and has been for quite some time.

Okay, trope already exists. No argument there. Discarding.
