The tendency of the quality of a show (especially a sitcom) to decline over time.
Sitcom Entropy is the law of the universe that holds that the novelty and cleverness of a television program (especially a sitcom) will eventually degrade, ultimately rendering the show unrecognizable. Plots will become stale and recycle; characters will become exaggerations of themselves. Recent examples include the Office (U.S.) and 30 Rock.
