I know I've seen this one before. Related to Queer People Are Funny, this is when two men (usually men, the opposite of this could be Girl-on-Girl Is Hot) holding hands, kissing, or doing anything that violates But Not Too Gay is presented as something icky, and thus Played for Laughs. Any thoughts?

This is, like, the aspect of But Not Too Gay, Girl On Girl Is Hot, Double Standard, and a dozen other tropes that makes it even possible to subvert something. A very close analogy would be "feet are not considered especially sexual" as a counterpart to "foot fetish". Chairs.

^ Your analogy is terrible. There's a difference between "a scene of two guys kissing has nothing that would interest a straight guy", and "two guys kissing is "disgusting'', ewww". The use of homophobia as a source of humor is not chairs.

That said, this needs a lot of work to make it a trope. Like a better description, and some examples, to begin with.

Yup. The foot counterpart would be Feet Are Ew.

Reacting to the antagonism of the phrasing, not the content. Fine.

I think it's a trope. I can even think of an example: in Baseketballs, two characters lock lips purely because it's such a breach of expectations. Even people who wouldn't normally watch two men kiss laughed out loud at that scene.

In Skyline, the main characters see two guys making out and react with digust.

@ rodneyAnonymous: I wasn't trying to be antagonistic, sorry. I just thought it was a really poor analogy.

@lebrel Thanks, and I agree, if I have time I'll refine it myself but if there's anyone out there that is good at writing these I would welcome the help too :)
