In the opening credits, the camera follows a bird or other small creature.

Name Space:
Main
Page Type:
Trope
When the movie opens, the protagonist admires a bird or other small flying creature. They then set it free. The camera follows the creature flying around for a bit, showing off what a great job the animators did and displaying the opening credits. After flying around, the creature usually then is stomped on or shooed away by the antagonist.

Golden Sun:The Lost Age and Golden Sun Dark Dawn: the intro for each follows a seagull flying over the ocean.

Men In Black does it with a bug, and I think I've seen it with a feather or dandylion seed a couple of times few times.

Is using small creatures as a framing device for scene changes and establishing shots, such as the rats (and to a lesser extent earthworms) in Mongrels, a varient or completely unrelated?

This is Object Tracking Shot, I think.
