You guys ever noticed how in mpreg (Mr. Seahorse fanfiction, the resulting baby is ALWAYS a girl? Never, ever a boy. What is that?

I don't actually recall noticing that, not that I've gotten to the end of very many mpreg fics.

Yeah, I have noticed it quite a bit. Mainly because I beta-read fanfiction, whether I like it or not, I never say no to betaing. But it is--every single mpreg fanfic that I've betaed and read on my own has this thing. The baby is always a girl. Surely I'm not the only one who has noticed?

That may just be a quirk of a certain fandom or something. I've seen mpreg resulting in boys plenty of times.

An outside observer might immediately deduce it as a Freudian quirk of the fantasy itself. I also might be talking about myself after the (very) quick scan of material I just did. Trope-ish, but it puts you in a potentially uncomfortably tiny head-space to make the case.

In Junior the "Junior" of the title is a girl.
