Subeverted with Sayaka who really acts the whole white knight schtick and holds contempt for anti heroes Homura and Kyouko... Until it turns out that she is not really as selfless as she likes to pretend.

^You mean "as she'd like to think".

    • There was a character in Sengoku Basara that was exactly like this. He commanded a lot of respect from his men, and was good at heart, but it becomes jarring when Oda Nobunaga blackmails him into fighting dirty fights in the war, and he'll still lead his troops whith inspirational speeches about fighting for justice, which at that point sound more like a Survival Mantra sung for self-reassurance than anything close to reality.

Odo was this in Star Trek Deep Space Nine, though he tended toward the authoritarian side, considering he had been taught by the Cardassians.

    • Justice (who is actually a Spirit of Justice possessing a dead Grey Warden's body) in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening. He returns in Dragon Age II, now possessing Anders, but he has since mutated from Spirit of Justice to Spirit of Vengeance, unfortunately.

In The New Universe, Justice from Justice. His power is reading auras of supers, and if you have a bad aura he kills you.

I'm not entirely sure if this is tropable, considering that the description for Love Freak specifically mentions that character ranting on about love and justice and whatnot. Anyway, here's a few examples.

    • America from Axis Powers Hetalia, oh so much. Considering that the characters are based on perceptions on the country, it might not be that far from the truth.
