The Fluttershy

Name Space:
Page Type:
This is a character that gets nervous around members of their own genus (by scientific standards) unless the individual members have earn this character's trust.

At the same time, this character has no trouble going up to the rest of the members of their kingdom (by scientific standards) if he/she is interested in doing so unless has a valid reason to avoid those individual or group of members.

Seems like an oddly specific variation of Shrinking Violet. Any examples besides the trope namer?

    Three examples.

Trope Namers are discouraged and I agree with Iron Lion.

    Agreed. No more Trope Namers.

Bad bad bad bad bad Trope Namer. This is the first (and, I hope, the last) time I wholeheartedly agree with Fast Eddie's polices. No freakin ponies in our trope names!

    Um, what three examples?

I don't mind the ponies but Fluttershy is way too specific an example to use as a Trope Namer. Bronies are legion but they are nowhere near omnipresent.

Seems like a combonation of Shrinking Violet and Friend To All Living Things. A bit too specific, I think.

Minimum of Three Examples per YKTTW entry

And Not Real Life examples. Three examples from Fiction. But yeah, Skyheartstar13's onto something: this is wayyy to specific to trope.

While I have seen this before (outside of MLP), it seems to fall pretty soundly under Shrinking Violet and Friend To All Living Things.

The whole genus/kingdom thing is just trying way too hard. You can say "people" and "animals", we'd know what it meant when Fluttershy was added as an example. Plus, Fluttershy is a pretty non-indicative name if you're not familiar with the show ("Okay, so... shy and with wings? Shy about things that flutter?"

    No dice.

Agreeing with everyone else. Bad name, unnecessary trope.

    Character named trope = bad.

First name exactly what separates this from tropes we already have, then come up with a title more indicative of that, if you hope for this trope to get anywhere.

I believe this is Not Good With People.
