Alice is going to meet Bob, a man she has heard about but never seen. A photograph is sent to Alice so she can recognize Bob's face. However, it's actually Ted's photograph. Alice meets up with Ted and confuses him for Bob.

  • In The Most Happy Fella, Tony, having proposed to Rosabella by letters, is about to send Rosabella his photograph in response to hers, but decides a photograph of Joe, a younger and better-looking foreman of his, would make a better impression on her. When she arrives for the wedding, she is upset when Joe tells her he's not Tony and acts all too smug about the ruse.
