Brainwashed but Normal

Brainwashing that somehow does not affect the subject's behavior otherwise.

Main

Trope
Do We Have This One??

It seems like it might be a good counterpoint to Brainwashed and Crazy; those instances when something takes over your mind but you act completely normal otherwise.

What's the purpose of such brainwashing, then? Turning them into a Manchurian Agent?

Agreement with Koveras. This is Manchurian Agent by another name. Motion to Discard. Sorry, Sb.

What if there's no loss of memory, buried personality, or "trigger"? Selvig and Hawkeye in The Avengers come to mind.

What if someone is "normally" (for them) Ax Crazy or somesuch, and brainwashed into acting normal? Not that I have an example of that, at least not right now.
