Sequel Fan Service Escalation

Fanservice esclates in sequels as they constantly try and top themselves.

Name Space:
Main
Page Type:
Trope

Fanservice is always nice, however same old same old gets old so each sequel must one up the last constantly pushing the element, clothes get skimpier, breasts get bigger, bouncier.

Mass Effect example write-up is partially incorrect. Mass Effect 2 featured less fanservice and the sex scenes cut off before anyone undressed. This is true in the case of Mass Effect 3, however.

    • In manga, To Love Ru is a particularly eloquent example with its sequel To Love Ru: Darkness which ups the fanservice to eleven.

Why not simply Fan Service Escalation? This can happen in the course of a series, in prequels et c. Witness eg how the Les Yay between Xena and Gabrielle became stronger during the course of the show.

The sequel to Piranha 3D lampshades this trope in that its title is Piranha 3DD.

Though Fan Service Escalation is IMO a far better title...

Yup, this is Fan Service Pack. You don't even have to stretch it much.

I wish we could switch the titles and add that picture to fan service pack though.

Fan Service Pack. I should probably make the title of this draft into a redirect to that.

^^ The title is good, no need to fix what ain't broke. And the image can be added to the Image Links subpage. Or make a crowner for image change.

Fan Service Pack is making a character more attractive. Fan Service is more than just that, it can also refer to situations, for example. Not the same trope, sorry.

^ We have Hotter And Sexier for cases where more Fan Service is added to an installment. We're covered.
