There's only one mushroom in Dizzy the Adventurer, and it serves this purpose.

In Sly 2, in Rajan's second level, there are mushrooms around the ancient temple that serve as trampolines.

Whatever the level is in Mario Kart Wii that has mushrooms in it, you can bounce on them.

Sonic&Knuckles allows you to bounce on the mushrooms too.

    • In the Madagascar game, there was a minigame where you had to jump on mushrooms in a certain order. they were bouncy.
    • In the same game, Alex was chasing you in a level and he would bounce up and down on a mushroom hoping to get you.

^^ Is it a subtrope, or is it just The Same But More Specific?

A subtrope and one that doesn't seem to be gathering examples on the main page.

In LEGO Harry Potter, when in a "natural" setting, giant mushrooms serve as springboards to reach higher platforms.

In Commander Keen in Goodbye Galaxy! Mad Mushrooms bounce low-low-high; the only way to get by them is to run under when they bounce high, or jump over them when they bounce low.

I don't think Springy Spores makes a good Trope Namer. Spores are the means by which mushrooms, ferns and a few other things reproduce (and I forget what makes them different from seeds), not the plant itself. Moreover, fictional spores are always bad news (do we have a trope for that?).

And, egad, Google's already indexed this YKTTW.

I think this is a valid subtrope.

Also, I'm ok with Springy Spores (I don't think it's misleading to call them spores; it's not exactly literal but most people will understand the implication). Maybe we could do better.

at the Commander Keen example, those mushrooms just themselves. this trope is for mushrooms you use as trampolines.
