Fallen to the Scrappy Heap

A character from a well like or decent to a unlikable character by fans.

Seriously, this title is the only thing that I can think of.

Basically, Fallen To The Scrappy Heap is about a character who used to be well liked by fans. But then, the writer screwed up by making this character taking a level of Jerkass., making the character wins all the time and turns the character into a pony lover. Of course, peoples started to hate that character.

Contrast to Rescued from the Scrappy Heap, where the character went from unlikable rewritten in a way that it becomes likable.

Example

Anime

  • Kio Asuno in Mobile Suit Gundam AGE. When he first appeared, he's actually a decent character. Then, he became a Technical Pacifist and yelling at enemies to stop fighting and 'understand' each other a lot. It all went downhill. Not to mention that he seems to care about his enemy side's casualties than his own wingmates.

Comic Book

Western Animation

I understand having an inverse of Rescued From The Scrappy Heap, but this is intrinsically going to be a complaining page, which is discouraged nowadays. The old ones are kept in under a Grandfather Clause but I don't know if this will fly.

Well, there's no comment since December 22. I guess I should discard it.

^ Good thing that you didn't mention the word "four". Seriously, Season 4 isn't that bad.

    • Sarah Palmer from Halo 4 was well received and hyped once it was revealed she'd be voiced by Jennifer Hale, but gradually started being less liked when during Spartan Ops she seemed constantly rude to everybody.

@Miru: It doesn't count if a character got rescued from the scrappy heap. In fact, her first appearance didn't show her personality that much.

@Tuckerscreator: It also doesn't count. Since it's about a character becomes a Scrappy in middle of the series.

@Psi001: It does counts, I guess? As I'm not a Sonic fan.

Maybe I should really discard it....

This looks like a complaining YKTTW, to be honest.

It was the middle of the series. Palmer was liked during the main campaign and first two Spartan Ops episodes. Then her likability diminished come episodes 3 to 5. The remaining episodes have been postponed until January.

Mako from Legend Of Korra, at first he was a well liked character given his semblances with Zuko, but after a Love Triangle where both girls who had fallen for him, turn out far more sympathetic than him, despite all her flaws and ocassional selfisness Korra was willing to let Mako and Asami date because she needed him, after her father's betrayal, and Asami left very clear, after realizing Mako's feeling for Korra that she had no problem with Korra, but with him for not beeing able to make a decision, in the end when the triangle was solved, Mako turned out for most of the fans as an inmature jerk for not taking any of their feelings into accout, but his own, it doesn't help that his own brother ended up hurt too due to his crush on Korra, seriously at the end people where almost hoping that he ended up alone.
