A game thats puzzles are built around its physics engine
This is currently soft split between full games and minigames. It may need a hard split - would love feedback on this.
Physics Engines are frequently found as part of games these days. Some games build their entire gameplay around them. In the case of puzzle games, they force the player to think about and take advantage of the game's physics in order to solve a series of puzzles. The most common form of physics puzzle is to destroy things. Because, face it, smashing stuff is fun. This is usually done by dropping, swinging, or shooting objects into other objects. The second most common iteration is where you have to get an object you can't directly control through an obstacle course by taking advantage of tools the game provides and/or working out what will happen when the object reaches different terrains or tools. A common hallmark of physics puzzle games are the different properties of terrain, objects, and projectiles. One object may be bouncy while another is solid. One type of terrain may be nearly frictionless while another slows down objects quickly. And so on. This can also appear as a minigame and may be on its way to becoming a type of Stock Puzzle. The most famous physics puzzle game is, of course, Angry Birds, where birds with different properties are hurled at obstacles and enemies which likewise have different properties. Can overlap with Wreaking Havok.
