The Only Dog in The World

Only one animal, usually a dog is seen throughout the entire production

Trope
As every actor knows, you should never work with animals or children. But sometimes the script calls for them. Usually, children are harmless enough when kept as extras, but animals are much harder to control, regardless of the role they're playing. So, the number of animals onscreen is only down to the number actually needed forthe role. This can sometimes make it seem as if there's only one of that type of animal in the world, because it's never seen anywhere else.

Examples:
  • In The Artist, the small dog the silent actor owns is the only one seen in the entire movie.
  • In both Fable 2 and 3, your character has a dog companion, however as you travel around Albion,no other dogs are seen being kept by anyone else.

PSOC The Canine Companion is the only relevant dog in the story so of course it's the only one. It is the character's world. A YKTTW should have links to other tropes in the description for reference. That and it should sound like it's about fiction, not film production.

This isn't a trope, this is just a very narrow example of conservation of detail. Discarding
