Several of those have been broken out into their own tropes, though.

^But usually those have many examples and go into more detail than just the spun off title.

Is this proposed trope "works written in diary format" or "works with the title format Diary of an X"? Your description suggests one and your examples suggest the other.

Related(?): in The Brady Bunch episode "The Possible Dream" Cindy accidentally gave Marcia's Secret Diary to Goodwill, and she & Mom go to a bookstore to try to find it.
Carol: We're looking for a diary.
Clerk: You came to the right place. How about Samuel Pepys' Diary? Or The Diary of Michael Wigglesworth. Or The Diary of a Madman, now there is fascinating reading.
Carol: I don't doubt it. But we're looking for a diary written by Marcia Brady.
Clerk: Marcia Brady...I never heard of her...any relation to Nicholas Brady, 1659-1726? Excellent poet.

Bump. This is a good concept but needs major work. Could someone tack over?

title should make it clear that this is a Framing Device about a story, not a plot about a diary (or just "diary appears in this work").
