In that case, strike the "Dr Strangelove" example. Because the rest are indeed Flying not falling.

Vultures in Star Craft are of the "Rocket Bike" variety. They're apparently a lot smaller then their unit appearance suggests.

Dante from Devil May Cry 3 plays this for laughs, sort of, by jumping Lady's rocket and riding it like a surfboard.

Those rocket bike things in the sewer in Akira.

Rocket-powered rideable craft much like broomsticks are used in asteroid mining in The Rolling Stones by Robert A Heinlein.

Anakin Skywalker's rocket bike on Tatooine in Star Wars Attack Of The Clones.

I seem to recall a rocket bike of some sort used in Disney's The Rescuers.

Possible alternate title for rocket-powered or otherwise flying craft that one straddles like a broomstick: Crotch Rocket. Which is what some of my relatives call fancy motorcycles.

Power Rangers Mystic Force had... oh, I forget what they were called, but they were this. Like other examples mentioned here, they're high-tech versions of the Flying Broomstick (well, they're wizard Rangers - what else would they ride?).
