    People Sit On Chairs ?

I can't think of any significance this would have in any piece of fiction.

It could be used to show how emotionally close the two people are without having to actually come out and say it.

It could work, but it definitely needs to be expanded, perhaps to show a degree of closeness, intimacy, or friendship among the two characters. Most of the examples I can think of are between opposite sexes, so that might be something. Just the act itself would be Chairs, but if there's a deeper meaning behind it, then it's a trope.

It could have some significance... It happened in Garden State, and was one of the first interactions between the characters. It might be a form of Meet Cute.

I think that this sometimes is used as an Indirect Kiss. Might end up with an Accidental Hand Hold.

Also related to Holding Hands, Lap Pillow and Together Umbrella.

^They share a walkman, not buds or headphones. But this trope should cover that to.

But just that example might be People Sit On Chairs? Significance?

This does definitely needs to be expanded. It needs an actual description with links to other tropes. I've also seen it used by two members of the opposite sex to show an innocent closeness. It's up to the OP (original poster suzannej137) to write it out by clicking on the pencil under his name to edit. If he doesn't care we'll just forget about this.
