In any fictional work, previous action will never jump directly to the climax. Instead, there will be a scene where the heroes gather their team, discover a surprising truth, or just kick back and relax because they know they might never get another chance to. Whatever the case, the climax is NEVER directly preceded by another battle. This is an omnipresent trope, so the examples list would be too long to fit on this submission form.
