    • Aizen in Bleach, though the hollows aren't much of monsters anymore as his method of powering them up is to force them to cross the bishonen line

I guess I didn't get around to writing that better description. This is Up For Grabs if anyone else thinks it's tropeable, otherwise I might come back to it.

Tangentially related to the Bishonen Line.

Possibly Super Paper Mario - Count Bleck and Dimentio may or may not be human. It's ambiguous, but most others in the setting look far less human.

@Assistant: The fact that I didn't get that one proves just how long ago I made this.

In Star Trek, the Borg, being a Hive Mind collective, didn't have a leader...until some writer decided to create the Borg Queen, who fits this trope.

I never finished watching El Hazard The Magnificent World, but from what I saw, it looks like some kid from our world ends up being the king of a race of bug-men... someone who've watched the whole thing can probably expand on it.

Incidentally, this seems to have an undercurrent/connection with Mighty Whitey. Those dirty monsters can't do anything without a proper HUMAN leading them!

Saren from Mass Effect, leading the geth.

That doesn't really work as Saren was just a very good dragon.

While not human... Tabuu from Super Smash Bros Brawl's Subspace Emissary mode?

Starcraft has Kerrigan, the (human with shoulder-mounted extensible claws) leader of the insectoid Zerg. Possible example: Nausicaa and the Ohmu. Possible example in that while she communicates with them, she doesn't order them to attack.
