* ArchivePanic: Many examples below. [[http://imgur.com/y8TEPYV Here is a graph with numbers]].
** The main channel alone has well over three thousand videos uploaded to it. Good luck watching everything.
** The entire network combined- not even including now-removed channels such as Gamechap, or members who quit such as Dead Workers Party- amounts to '''more than 25,700 videos''', as of August 2015.
* BaseBreakingCharacter:
** Any change in the lineup for ''VideoGame/GarrysMod'' was extremely controversial, although for some bizarre reason LetsPlay/InTheLittleWood's involvement became a particular point of contention, creating a divide on many levels. Some fans like him and don't mind that he's in, others like him but wish that LetsPlay/{{Sips}} took his place. Then there's his skill - having someone new is amusing, refreshing or frustrating, particularly when he fails to notice the murderer sneaking past him and gets everyone shanked.
** There was a long period of time during which whenever LetsPlay/KimRichards costarred in pretty much ''any'' series, the comment section would inevitably devolve into an argument between those that didn't want her to collaborate (in no small part because of irrational hatred and double standards on the hatedom's behalf) and those that did. That isn't even getting into the more racist Yognaughts...
*** Eventually the constant abuse resulted in Kim being forced into a hiatus in 2017, and she didn't make a full return until late 2019.
** LetsPlay/{{Turpster}} is an odd case. His own channel, with behind the scenes content of the Yogscast, is relatively popular, but on other channels he quickly comes a divisive figure. This is in part because of his tendency to shout a lot when panicked, his breaking the rules for games such as ''VideoGame/GarrysMod'' on a semi-regular basis and his being on a few channels semi-regularly, such as with Hat Films, Sips and so on. His leaving in July 2019 was similarly tense.
** Simon became this for a while in 2015, following his shouting and panicking which people found either amusing or getting a bit grating. His online behaviour, namely starting an argument with [[Creator/TheCynicalBrit TotalBiscuit]] that [[MisplacedRetribution led to flak directed at others, such as Duncan, that had absolutely nothing to do with it]], didn't help matters. He was, however, RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap later, in no small part because he was suffering from intense depression at the time which caused people to do a 180 out of sympathy, and showed a calmer and more cerebral approach while also keeping the varied content going on the main channel.
** [=VeteranHarry=], aka Harry Marshall. Some like him for his trollish nature and his skills in ''TTT'', but others have been put off by his politically incorrect humour and think that his trolling has gone too far, particularly as a result of the 2015 livestreams which saw him become a borderline [[TheScrappy Scrappy]]. To elaborate, Harry was responsible for encouraging fans to spam emoji in the chat, which led to many auto-bans and an outcry, plus members of the Yogscast criticising him for making the chat nearly useless. He's also been accused of plagiarism because of some T-shirt designs, which hasn't helped matters.
* BreakupBreakout: Has by far been the most successful project spun off from the "[[Website/SomethingAwful Goon]]" banner.
* BrokenBase:
** Between ''VideoGame/{{Minecraft}}'' fans and fans of the Yogscast in general.
** The Minecon 2011 Clusterfuck is an example of just how bad a slight misunderstanding and some twittering can snowball into an enormous BrokenBase. Seems to have all blown over now, though.
** The whole argument with Gamechap and Bertie towards the end of 2013, in no small part owing to content that some viewers (mainly women and to a lesser extent ethnic minorities) deemed unacceptable.
** As with a few LetsPlay videos of ''VideoGame/TroubleInTerroristTown'', their behaviour, while funny and not quite as bad as some other gamers, is somewhat divisive. While cases of RDM are fewer and further between in comparison, there are a few blatant moments, and they end up ghosting a few times. Some fans don't care and find it funny, others are a bit more stern [[note]]this is because randomly killing other innocents meaninglessly and talking via Skype, Vent or [=TeamSpeak=] instead of in-game chat is behaviour that quickly gets you banned on most servers[[/note]]. This is also the case with ''VideoGame/{{Murder}}'' since the gang tend to RDM a few times and also ghost, although to their credit the players do call each other out on this in both games.
** The new "Conquest" channel has a bit of a mixed reception. Some view it as them selling out, some are fine with it being done and think it's a breath of fresh air, while pointing out that there have been sponsored videos in the past. A third group don't mind either way. Its being family friendly has mostly gone down more or less without a fuss.
** The fan-run Tumblr blog [=ProblematicYogscast=] has been a source of contention by fans of all stripes and even some of the Yogscast itself. All issues related exclusively to Sjin have been moved to his own YMMV page, whereas others are listed below.
** By extension, any Sjin or Ridgedog roleplay now leads to division. On the one hand some argue that the characters are different from the members in real life and still acceptable, while others argue that doing so is in some way supporting their alleged action. Some have gone as far to, in a stunning degree of hypocrisy, send ''death and rape threats'' to roleplayers of said members, which [=ProblematicYogscast=] then reblogged (to their credit, they did apologise and pull the post).
** The Yogventures debacle, especially among the people who donated to the Kickstarter who likely won't see their money come to anything thanks to the funds disappearing, is a sore topic.
** The charity "Mind" withdrawing from the 2014 Christmas livestreams caused a bit of contention. While most are understanding and respectful of the decision (and the Yogscast have encouraged anyone wishing to donate to them to do so independently), there is debate as to whether or not Mind were doing the right or smart thing.
** The Yogscast reading shipping fics on the livestream earned negative reactions from the fanfiction community, whereas those not in favour of real person shipping are less sympathetic; others didn't care that the fic got read out but didn't agree with the author being named (with their alias, but still). It really doesn't help that Simon was MisBlamed by the community and outright said that he liked the story in question.
** The editing for the March 2015 series of ''TTT'' was fairly divisive. Some felt it was a refreshing change, others felt it was too over the top and generic. One thing people ''can'' agree on is that the editors did a fantastic job.
** The editing for the ''April'' 2015 series of ''TTT'' has also divided fans. While agreed to be an improvement, some fans think the transitions between rounds are too fast and it takes away the post-match banter.
** The lack of smaller Yogscast members in some videos is a point of debate, with some arguing that the smaller channels are somehow being "bullied" and others arguing that it's not the main channel's responsibility. Debate on this appears to be dying down with the inclusion of Martyn, Zoey, Rythian and Zylus in ''VideoGame/GrandTheftAutoV'' and ''TTT'' (minus Martyn in this case), although others are concerned that when Simon returns this won't continue; this was debunked when regular lineups for ''Gmod'' continued to include Zoey and Zylus, plus Rythian on occasion.
** The amount of alcohol consumed during the 2015 livestreams has started to divide fans. Some think that it's acceptable to drink but be kept in check, a second group believe that it needs to be toned down (citing the Civ stream in which Lewis had to leave early on- although the group maintain that this was because of food poisoning- as well as the stream when Ridgedog got drunk and left several hours early, which was widely considered to be the worst of 2014), and a third believe that the whole matter has been blown out of proportion. [[http://lomadia.tumblr.com/post/134650158453/yogscats-yogpetshame-yogscats A comment of Hannah's being taken out of context]] ''did not'' help matters.
** The resignations of Sjin and Turps, contrasting the firing of Caff which went down without a fuss, caused the subreddit to go into what might as well be called civil war for a few weeks. As time's gone on, however, public opinion has turned against both with further allegations against them and confirmation from other network members about more misbehaviour.
*** On that note, Sjin's return to [=YouTube=] using the same channel as before - albeit as a "solo" creator - split the base. Though most fans were worried at his return without so much as acknowledging what he did before his forced resignation, a few argued he had the right to continue on his own. This in turn sparked arguments about whether Sjin could potentially exploit a platform he had used for misbehaviour.
* CrossesTheLineTwice:
** Simon's comment after spilling his cup of tea in "Ampu-Tea":
-->'''Simon:''' "Now I know how the Americans felt on 9/11."
** An episode of ''Garry's Mod'' had Simon, Lewis and co spawn in the Twin Towers and then make similar jokes, so much so that the group banned comments because of how many times they crossed the line.
** In the same vein still; During a ''Minecraft'' plane mod, Lewis almost crashes into two large block towers, prompting Simon to say "You nearly recreated 9/11 there".
** ''[[VideoGame/GarrysMod Murder]]'' essentially runs on this. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0T1C5-pkE8&channel=BlueXephos In this episode alone]], there's jokes about Stephen Hawking being a murderer with the same monotonous voice complete with [[LetsPlay/HatFilms a perfect impression from Trott]], jokes about children, pretty much everything under the sun.
** During [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpqJplRpdT8&list=UUH-_hzb2ILSCo9ftVSnrCIQ Episode 5]] of ''VideoGame/PropHunt'', Lewis spots two dead bodies in a pool, asking what happened. Sjin snarks that [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Barrymore it's like Michael Barrymore's house]]. Everyone present responds with disgusted laughter.
** For the first round of ''Gmod TabletopGame/{{Pictionary}}'' , Trott and Smith choose to do ''[[Film/TheFastAndTheFurious Fast & Furious 7]]''. How do they choose to represent it? With UsefulNotes/BarackObama standing in for Creator/DwayneJohnson (nothing wrong with that so far) and [[spoiler:a depiction of Creator/PaulWalker's car crash death, complete with numerous explosions]]. Smith's reaction to the proposal is initially horrified, but he eventually goes along with it; by the end, ''everyone'' is audibly wincing and laughing.
* DontShootTheMessage: A number of blogs have shown up on Tumblr, critiquing the Yogscast for varying reasons ranging from social justice issues ([=ProblematicYogscast=]) to supposedly anti-drama and pro-consumer ([=YogPetShame=]). The behaviour from said blogs is the reason for a large BrokenBase, since many that agree with the general point of some of these blogs (don't be homophobic/transphobic/racist, disclose properly and keep drama to a minimum, etcetera.) are otherwise put off by their demeanour and/or behaviour, whereas others are behind them fully.
* EnsembleDarkhorse:
** While every Yogscast video maker is someone's favourite, quite a few of the non-video makers are relatively popular too, such as Sam Gibbs the sound engineer, who got a lot of love in the 2013 livestream for doing a good job, being good at games and playing guitar well. He could also be one hell of a troll when he wanted to, particularly towards Parv.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/user/Linkthe1st Will]], [[LetsPlay/WilliamStrife page found here]], has also picked up a lot of fans in a very short space of time, owing to his competence at ''Minecraft'', decent tutorials that got to the point, and his awesomely deep voice. There were numerous requests for him to be on the main channel during his time with the network.
** [[http://yogscast.wikia.com/wiki/Matthew_Toffolo Matt Toffolo]], Kim's editor is quickly becoming one, especially after his salty turn as Tanuki Mario in Kim's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kC0l7tJZOjM&index=29&list=PLlSBsxKnPs6Q807fvz1J5peyZDXMTKZng 2015 Christmas Livestreams]]. Fans rejoiced when he returned in Kim's new Mario Kart series and quickly proved to have not changed a whit.
** Despite not initially being a video maker starting mostly as a producer, Tom aka "Angor" quickly a fair number of fans. This is due to his being a total badass at ''VideoGame/TroubleInTerroristTown'', being a deadpan guy and having a laid-back attitude. Taking the more divisive Ridge's place as the referee for "Lucky Walls" can't have hurt either. He eventually launched his own channel with much enthusiasm from fans.
** Zoey has by far one of the biggest fandoms despite being one of the smaller channels.
** Hat Films were not that big a channel when they first joined the Yogscast, but quickly gained a devoted following due to their oddball sense of humour, professionally made content and videos aimed at a more mature/older audience. They have since grown to become one of the fastest growing channels in the group, meaning this trope doesn't apply as much.
** Community manager Mark Hulmes hasn't even appeared in any videos, but is liked even by detractors for being friendly, informative, and having a good sense of humour on /r/Yogscast. He's also earned a great deal of love for his work in ''High Rollers''.
** The Twitch moderators became this on the 2015 New Year's Eve stream if they weren't already, what with that stream being ''absolutely insane''.
* FandomEnragingMisconception: Calling the group the ''Yog''cast as opposed to the ''Yogs''cast is a good way to be mocked mercilessly, as Adam Sandler found out the hard way.[[labelnote:Disclaimer]]In this case, while people understand typos or mistakes, Sandler was supposed to be targeting a specific audience and didn't even bother to check he was getting the name right.[[/labelnote]]
* FandomRivalry:
** While WebVideo/GameChap and the Yogscast used to get on really well, the former insulting the Yogscast and their fans on Reddit was enough to get them kicked out. Since then, mention one of them on the other's forum and you'll be met with scorn (or, in the case of the former, a ban).
** [[WebVideo/TheCynicalBrit Total Biscuit]] has criticized them a few times, which does lead to some disagreements between the fandoms, although they still generally get along. Plenty of fans still like both and have said that seeing them argue is like watching their parents have a fight. Fans of Simon and TB are particularly vitriolic, in part due to Simon's downright rude behaviour towards TB, though it still hasn't stopped overlap.
** A VocalMinority of Area 11 fans dislike the Yogscast and hope that the band can distance itself from the group now.
** Fans of the Yogscast do ''not'' like fans of ''Film/{{Pixels}}'' due to the advertising for the film, which attempted to mention them in a bid for people to see the movie without including the group, paying them or even ''pronouncing their name properly''. High profile members of the group such as Simon, Ross of Hat Films, [[http://justayogblog.tumblr.com/post/126098142596/hello-yogcast Zoey, Kim and Martyn]], as well as Angor and Teutron, have all slammed the film (plus Creator/AdamSandler specifically) for [[https://twitter.com/SimonHoneydew/status/629313597114552320 what they view as]] [[https://twitter.com/Teutronz/status/629611007061684224 poor effort]], as well as [[https://twitter.com/djh3max/status/629641386556555264 shady conduct and poor behaviour]] at best.
** An inter-fandom one between fans of the main subreddit and the subreddit [=RantYogscast=] (and by proxy Tumblr blog [=YogPetShame=]). Those who dislike the former accuse them of brigading and being overtly sycophantic Orwellian editors that won't listen to legitimate criticism, those that dislike the latter (plus its Tumblr "parent" for lack of a better word) accuse it of doing nothing but stir up drama despite supposedly being against it, being incredibly rude and acerbic when a Yogscast member tries to clarify what is going on there, lingering in a fandom that it really doesn't belong in, [[{{Hypocrite}} censoring any critical content]] and being insensitive to rape survivors and/or victims of child abuse, as well as defending Richard Dawkins when Simon called him out for Islamophobic behaviour.
** Another inter-fandom one between Tumblr and Reddit, mostly over the issue of fan-fiction and Sjin and/or Ridgedog. There is a reasonable degree of overlap, having said that.
* FanNickname:
** A lot due to infinite cases of AlcoholInducedIdiocy.
*** [[LetsPlay/DuncanJones Duncan]] picked up the nickname Druncan (also spelled Drunkan) during the 2012 livestream.
*** Nearly everyone has a 'gin rage' related nickname actually. [[Music/{{Area 11}} Sparkles*]] admitted to being called Drinkles (owing to him coming in to part of the livestream ''extremely drunk'') and during the 27th Dec livestream, they thought up Brewis Ginly for [[LetsPlay/LewisBrindley Lewis]]. LetsPlay/{{Strippin}} is Sippin, [[LetsPlay/SimonLane Simon]] is Honeybrew, LetsPlay/{{Sjin}} is Tsjipsy, Zoey has her fake last name changed to Drunkasheck, [[LetsPlay/InTheLittleWood Martyn]] becomes Martyni (even though that isn't what he drinks) and so on.
** Lesser-known channels (that is to say fewer subscribers, lower view count, fewer appearances on other network channels and so on) from the network are often called the "Underyogs" by their collective fandoms. This typically covers Nilesy, Zoey, [=PyrionFlax=], Will Strife and Zylus, but can also include Strippin [[note]]his sub count is quite high, but his views are fairly low, he hasn't collaborated with many Yogs since moving to LA and he tends to livestream a fair amount which limits the number of videos he does[[/note]], Martyn [[note]]his sub count is over a million but his views tend to vary wildly, there are a few hiatuses and he doesn't appear that often on other channels[[/note]], Turps [[note]]he had low subs and views, but appeared a lot on other channels, and was the CEO[[/note]] and Parv [[note]]doesn't do as many videos as he used to, fairly low subscriber base and view count[[/note]].
* ForcedMeme: "The horse is lovely!" [[note]]Explanation: On a [=YogTrailers=] video involving horse racing, Simon absently rants about how the internet tends to make memes out of random things like "the horse is lovely!" Yognauts proceeded to try and turn the phrase into an actual meme by posting it on every Website/YouTube video they watch.[[/note]]
* FriendlyFandoms:
** With WebVideo/JesseCox, since Simon and he get on like a house on fire. Jesse has been jokingly nicknamed "American Simon" by the fandom(s).
** Fans of WebVideo/TheCynicalBrit and the Yogs also get along quite well, although [[WebVideo/YogscastMinecraftSeries their Minecraft series]] is a slightly different matter and TB has fallen out with Simon, making this a sort of halfway case[[note]]many are still fans, and if anything the Yognaughts and fans of TB united in condemnation of Simon's behaviour[[/note]].
** In spite of members of both fandoms sniping back and forth at each other, fans of Creator/AchievementHunter and the Yogs mostly get along well, or at least enough to co-exist peacefully. Simon and Lewis both follow Creator/GavinFree, who follows Simon back, plus there's a good deal of fans who like both. The same goes for the parent company Creator/RoosterTeeth and Funhaus. This eventually got so pronounced that in 2020, the Yogscast and Rooster Teeth partnered up on an official level.
** Before LetsPlay/HatFilms actually joined the Yogs, they got on with each other rather well, as did their fandoms. When it was announced that they would join, both fandoms (mostly) rejoiced.
** Formerly with WebVideo/GameChap, since they used to be thick as thieves, although after they were kicked out the Yogscast it turned into a FandomRivalry.
* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff: Despite being a mostly UK-based group, the Yogscast have a large number of American fans.
* HarsherInHindsight: Lewis and Simon mock-fighting with [[Creator/TheCynicalBrit TotalBiscuit]] is a lot harder to watch after TB fell out with both of them for real.
* HilariousInHindsight:
** When Hat Films initially joined the Yogscast, there were complaints that their doing so would result in their content changing due to an overlap with younger fans. Not only has this not been the case, but the trio's increased presence has in fact led to the reverse, with a growing number of Yognaughts identifying primarily as Hat Films fans.
** During their early videos, Simon had a tendency to mispronounce the group's name as the "Yogcast". Come 2015, Creator/AdamSandler and Creator/JoshGad would make that mistake for real,''while trying to advertise to their fans''.
* The parody song “Screw the Nether” focuses on how AwesomeButImpractical living in [[LethalLavaLand the eponymous location]] would be. Come 2020, and changes to the Nether actually make it plausible to live there.
* HoYay:
** Lewis and Simon have their moments. Especially in MMORPG games where they are playing opposite sexes, like in ''Mists of Pandaria'' when Simon yelled at Lewis to take his clothes off [[ItMakesSenseInContext (to show that the female pandas now had underwear)]], or in ''Archage'' where they were going to build a home together and raise cubs.\
\
It should be noted that the origin of the Simon and Lewis team originated from Simon being in Lewis's ''VideoGame/WorldOfWarcraft'' guild as a female character, and Lewis attempting to... "win Honeydew's favor". Of course, while Lewis was initially disappointed by TheReveal, he got along with Simon anyway once he realized how funny he was.
** Simon and BRIAN BLESSED [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0eYfoLdPoE&feature=plcp&context=C463fc39VDvjVQa1PpcFP7VJrrMLAAmA7KpbDZbMyNuRboiZ79Xzo%3D here]].
** Not to mention [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMLAuJvZVqQ&feature=plcp Simon kissing Lewis when he cuts his lip.]] Please note [[LetsPlay/HannahRutherford Hannah's]] complete lack of reaction.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LINc8t7TvpQ#t=03m20s Lewis randomly gives Duncan a kiss.]]
*** Lewis has randomly kissed the other guys more than once.
** '''LetsPlay/{{Sjin}}'''. No matter who he's working with--whether it's Sips, Lewis, Simon, or Nilesy--he always manages to throw in some HoYay / FauxYay.
** When Martyn and LetsPlay/{{Strippin}} play mini-golf, Strippin has an... interesting way of distracting his opponent.
*** Speaking of Strippin and competitors, he also managed to kiss Alsmiffy on the nose before the burger challenge (which they spoon each other afterwards in agony).
* LGBTFanbase: Despite some occasionally offensive content, the Yogscast have a notably large LGBT fandom. This particularly applies to Kim and Zoey; the former is incredibly supportive and outspoken against homophobia (and has identified as 'not straight'), the latter is a lesbian and very caring towards her fans.
* MemeticBadass: Most of the members get this, but Strippin takes the cake owing to his [[MrFanservice well-built]] [[NerdsAreSexy physique]] and his real-life strength. LetsPlay/{{Turpster}} at one point refers to him as the strongest man in Yogtowers.
* MemeticMutation:
** "LOOKS FUCKING SHIT" and variations after an infamous Yogtrailers video where Simon yelled it out ''at the beginning of a trailer'' to lampshade how the Yogscast just tear apart trailers.
** "Dear Yogscast, my (insert age of child here) son/daughter saw you swearing in their video and they (insert extreme overreaction), please (insert disproportionate reaction here)". Has led to several variations such as "thanks for making my autistic child chat with other people" and "thanks for teaching them swearing so I don't have to".
** "RIP Parv" promptly became a meme after Simon and Lewis started pretending he was dead on a livestream. It became a RunningGag throughout the rest of December 2013. The chat mods tried making it a DiscreditedMeme, but the fans and the Yogscast no less were having none of it, and therefore it kept going.
** "EAT SHIT" for their ''VideoGame/GarrysMod'' videos, since Ross from LetsPlay/HatFilms uses it as his PreAssKickingOneLiner. Similarly, "IT'S NOT ME!" became a popular catchphrase for ''VideoGame/TroubleInTerroristTown''.
** And from the Chilluminati[[note]]Simon, Sjin, Tom and Harry[[/note]]'s ''VideoGame/GrandTheftAutoV'' streams, we have "BUY MY FUCKING BREAD."
** "It's cake at stake Lewis!" is a quote said by Simon from the Cake Defence video that was used in an episode of [[WebAnimation/BattleForDreamIsland Battle For Dream Island Again]]. The Cake Defence video got an increase in views and the quote became a minor meme as a result.
* MisaimedFandom:
** With regards to Sjin and Ridgedog roleplayers, a BrokenBase has sprung up due to the allegations against both members. Some fans have gone much further than signal boosting and asking for their removal and/or being DemotedToExtra, however, and in a horrifying case of hypocrisy have sent ''death and/or rape threats'' to roleplayers on Tumblr.
** While most NSFW artists have the decency to at least stay out of the main Tumblr tags, some have not since they apparently believe that the Yogscast member in question ''wants'' to see this. Kim and Hannah have both been victim to this and neither have reacted positively, which is quite understandable.
* MisBlamed:
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iK7azGOG-VQ&list=UUH-_hzb2ILSCo9ftVSnrCIQ In this video]] in ''VideoGame/TroubleInTerroristTown'', Lewis is accused of ghosting by both fans and his friends. In reality, there was barely a second between death and him shouting out, and he did start yelling as he was dying; he points this out, and while the others do accuse him of milking the BigNo, they drop it after this.
** The younger Yogscast fans tend to get the flack for most of the... irrational behaviour in the comments section, with some older fans claiming that they make up 95% of the fanbase and have thus ruined the community forever. This is not true.
** The Yogscast got some flack from the fanfiction community after reading out some shipping fics without the permission of the authors during one of the livestreams in December 2014. While this was possibly irresponsible, they were accused of going out of their way to make fun of the fanfic community. This is despite Simon saying that he ''enjoyed'' the work and found it quite sweet.
** A lack of smaller Yogscast channels in 2015 (in terms of main channel appearances) was blamed on a whole mix of people for varying reasons, such as bigger content creators like Hat Films or Sips (even though, while being in some videos on there, they aren't involved in organising who takes part), Turps (even though his work as CEO didn't really cover that) and Simon/Lewis (while both are the ''de facto'' owners of the main channel and do organise it to an extent, Simon does less of the admin work and Lewis can only work with who's available). It really simply depends on who is online and when they are available, particularly if they don't work in the main office.
** After the release of the poorly-received Creator/AdamSandler film ''Film/{{Pixels}}'' and the release of a poorly made video which tried appealing to Yogscast fans, a few people angrily rounded on the group for supposedly doing said content due to the supposedly offensive and unfunny humour of the film. The reality is that ''the studio went ahead and made the videos without Turps' permission because he had declined''. He publicly went on to chew the studio out for this, as did [[https://twitter.com/djh3max/status/629641386556555264 Ross]]. [[https://www.reddit.com/r/RantYogscast/comments/3g3lxq/scrapped_pixels_promotion_suggests_severe/ctww6t6 Hannah explained what happened as well]] in response to some allegations from [=YogPetShame=], although this didn't stop the blog from rudely insulting her and accusing her of knowing nothing.
** Any time someone complains about the network not being child friendly despite their PeripheryDemographic, they fail to consider that the Yogscast ''never'' advertised themselves as kid-friendly, or at least exclusively for kids. Martyn (depending on the content he covers), Zoey and Kim are the only ones to do so actively, as well as the seemingly defunct Conquest channel.
* NeverLiveItDown:
** Yogventures and the ensuing debacle when two thirds of the funds went missing.
** For some reason the ''Pixels'' debacle appears to have gone down in history for some parties as one of their greatest "errors", even though Turps and Hannah have explained ''at length'' how this isn't remotely their fault and attempted to explain the possibilities (e.g. the studio contacted them months before trailers were released).
** While /r/Yogscast appears to have ''forgiven'' Simon for his "crying pissbabby" remark, they have not forgotten it and it continually comes up in any thread related to him.
* NightmareFuel:
** Despite their jokes, some of the stories they tell during Halloween Spack-2-cular are actually pretty creepy.
** Whenever Ross gets the knife and goes on a hammy rampage, shouting "EAT SHIT" over and over again. It's funny, but the fact that he does it with no warning is sometimes a little scary, and when he ''really'' shouts it can be more terrifying than funny.
** Simon's first round in ''Murder'' is to go around screaming at the top of his lungs, knife out and trying to murder everyone. [[MoodWhiplash He then gets killed easily when someone gets him in their sights and shoots]]. In a later round he [[http://goodurlsalltaken.tumblr.com/post/91952168247/g-mod-murderer-simon-source becomes the murderer again]] and embraces DrunkOnTheDarkSide, with a good dose of EvilIsHammy. It's done with almost no warning, which makes it terrifying as well as funny.
** The "Eat of my pie" scene of Yogsquest episode 9. "Join us. Join us." (SlasherSmile.)
** Speaking of Yogsquest, the second season, Goons of The Galaxy's BigBad, [[spoiler: [[EldritchAbomination The Goroloth]]]].
** The introduction to the ''VideoGame/{{Slender}}'' gametype in ''Gmod''. The same, cheerful music starts, then starts slowing down rapidly as a horrifying noise plays, the text starts stretching and then the noise of a camera failing is heard. Fittingly enough, this was for Halloween.
** The end of the real-life ''Lucky Block'' challenge ends in [[spoiler:Smith burning down a ''lot'' of boxes for real, with a shit-eating grin on his face]]. The man is now a PyroManiac in real life.
* OlderThanTheyThink:
** A good chunk of complaints about the new "Conquest" channel are related to the videos being sponsored, or at least offering the chance for players to win a UsefulNotes/Playstation4. Weirdly enough, there were very few complaints when it came to their ''Heroes and Generals'' skits, or their ''VideoGame/PlantsVsZombiesGardenWarfare'' short, both of which were filmed and released long before the "Conquest" channel was even launched.
** Many of the complaints about "Carrot for a Cock" are that it is too dirty and that the Yogscast have supposedly reached a new low. However, many of the so called "die hard" fans in question fail to remember the equally vulgar "Elephant Having a Wank", the relatively sexual "Arthas Baby" and the infamous rant from Lewis threatening [[ItMakesSenseInContext to shove oil up his arse]] in ''Galacticraft''.
* OneSceneWonder: Quite a few things happen every now and then, owing to the overlapping between channels. One of the funniest examples would have to be [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zS0U-XxA3as Sparkles* stumbling in for a livestream that he obviously wasn't intended to be in]], while ''completely drunk'', so much so that he has to be taken home after only one minute. One minute, and yet he managed to easily be one of the funniest things there - at least, before [[SerialEscalation everybody]] ''[[SerialEscalation else]]'' [[SerialEscalation got drunk]].
* OvershadowedByControversy: Suffice it to say that discussion of Caff, Turps and Sjin (all of whom left the network in Summer 2019) has gotten so heated that the Yogscast subreddit has outright banned any further threads about them. In the case of Caff, it has completely overshadowed anything else he was involved in.
* ReplacementScrappy: Inverted with Angor taking over the place of Ridgedog as GameMaster for various contests. Angor has become considerably less divisive and gained a sizeable fanbase, whereas Ridgedog was polarizing and was viewed as too trollish by some.
* RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap:
** Both Lewis and Simon became very divisive figures around early 2015, in part due to their arguments with other groups and the view that their content had become stale. However, Lewis managed to redeem himself when Simon fell ill, due to his reorganising the channel and getting many members of the team involved for a wide range of content such as ''GTA'' and ''Gmod'', by no means an easy task. Simon calmed down considerably online, and as time went along fans forgave him for some of his more infamous outbursts due to his humorous tweets; his return in ''Trials of Skobbels'' was also considered a great return to his older style of humour.
** Kim was a very divisive figure to begin with, but has since developed a loyal and devoted fanbase and the subreddit has become incredibly protective of her.
** Harry Marshall, aka [=VeteranHarry=], became a borderline Scrappy after the Twitch chat in the 2015 livestreams, which many fans found very annoying. His later participation in some livestreams and the ''Rust'' server in 2016 have since won most of the fans back.
* RewatchBonus: In the ''Magicka'' LetsPlay with Total Biscuit, whenever Simon gets a staff that has a use, he sets it off constantly for no reason. At first you assume it's just one of the ways he's trolling the other two, but Lewis [[FridgeBrilliance realizes very late into the game]] that the default keybind for it is the middle mouse button, which Simon uses as his Vent push-to-talk key. Every time he does it actually is an honest accident.
* SeasonalRot:
** The season of ''TTT'' that started in March 2015 had a much more mixed reception when compared to the previous episodes. The more montage-style editing, the slightly off-the-walls humour, loud music (which drowned out the participants) and the presentation were mostly seen as unwelcome changes, and while fans agreed change was necessary it was more polarising. This was changed by Episode Three, which went for a more relaxed editing style that combined the best of both, toned down the more bizarre humour, quietened the music and gave the players a chance to shine. Since then the content has been varied enough while varying sufficiently
** Arguably the ''Minecraft'' shows, by way of a more interconnected plot with increasing amounts of perspectives after the end of the Tekkit shows, making it incredibly hard to follow a plot.
* TheScrappy:
** While Ridgedog does still have some fans due to his bizarre humour, dressing up as himself for Minecon 2013, incredibly well-done builds and (former) status as GameMaster, his agressive and controversial actions have been criticised. Ridge is also blamed for the most disastrous charity livestream of 2014, in which he got so drunk that he fell asleep an hour in and left Bebop to try and (unsuccessfully) get things back on track; the result was a livestream in which only $3,000 was raised. When he left very few Yognaughts seemed to miss him.
** Harry became this for a while during the 2015 livestreams as a result of the rampant chat spam, which many fans found unbearable and blamed on him. He was later RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap after partaking in some livestreams himself, and the ''VideoGame/{{Rust}}'' server for Yogscast members has notably given him a chance to shine.
* StopHavingFunGuys:
** Lewis and Simon prefer to screw around in games rather than really play them, which stirs up some anger in fans who feel they don't show off the game very well. Some good examples are every time they cheat in a ''Minecraft'' adventure map, or the time they previewed ''VideoGame/{{DayZ}}'' (a slow-paced survival game) on a private server in which they were given guns and a sniper escort when they joined (turning it into a "wander around and occasionally shoot a zombie" game).
** See BrokenBase regarding ''VideoGame/GarrysMod'', and also look at MisBlamed.
* SuckinessIsPainful: While many people watch the group to see them fail at games and subsequently freak out, there are occasions when there are some truly ''awful'' plays. This tends to get any StopHavingFunGuys up in arms.
* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: The change to the Twitch chat in 2015, which removed the chat restrictions[[note]]put in place to stop spam, which previously only allowed fans to send a message once every few minutes[[/note]] and led to overwhelming emoji spam. The response on Reddit and Tumblr was overwhelmingly negative, and caused group member Harry to lose a lot of fans.
* VocalMinority:
** Kim is unfortunately subject to one in the comments section on [=YouTube=], with a minority of racist and sexist idiots drowning out most other commentators. Quite understandably, she doesn't read the comments much any more.
** The same applies for Zoey, who is subject to sexist and homophobic comments outside of her own channel.
** The 2015 livestream saw an increase in the number of guest streamers, in part due to the changed format. This was mostly well-received, but unsurprisingly led to a small, but vocal, groups of people saying "person X is from the Yogscast, I'm not interested". Hannah and community manager Mark both expressed their displeasure with this.
* WhatDoYouMeanItsNotForKids: Overlapping with ''WebVideo/YogscastMinecraftSeries'', the Yogscast has received quite a few complaints about how the channel is not family-friendly, with profanity being the most common complaint. Almost nobody in the group aims to in the first place. The only real exception would be Zoey, plus Kim and Martyn to an extent, as well as the Conquest channel, which was partially made so they could have a strictly family-friendly channel.
* WinBackTheCrowd:
** After complaints that content on Lewis and Simon's channel was getting a bit stale in early 2015, a bit of change was required after Simon fell ill. The resulting content, such as Lucky Blocks, Lucky Walls and the increased presence of more minor Yogscast members is agreed to have been a massive improvement, to the point that some fans are worried it will change again when Simon returns.
** The change has continued to impress with a wider range of Yogscast members in content such as ''GTA'', ''TTT'' and ''Minecraft''.
** After ''Minecraft'' content that started to bore the fandom, constant shouting and a few infamous outbursts, Simon became a ''huge'' BaseBreakingCharacter among the Yognaughts. However, his return in ''Trials of Skobbels'' on the main channel had a very positive reception, with a general consensus that his calmer behavior was a welcome return to form. It also helps that his online behaviour had also calmed down considerably, and that any ire was directed at more polarising figures such as Richard Dawkins.
