* {{Adorkable}}: Pinkie Pie's ''Lord of the Rings'' fangirling is pretty endearing.
* ClicheStorm: In "The Longest Wedding", DJ 3-Pones hands out well-worn truisms ("''With the power of friendship, anything is possible!''") like they're cheap cigars.
* CreepyAwesome:
** Sweetie Belle or Scary Belle, if you like.
** Celestia as well.
* CrossesTheLineTwice: Much of the series humor comes from this. For example:
** Twilight [[spoiler: ''murdering the real Pinkie Pie'' and replacing her with one of the clones, out of annoyance.]]
** The treatment of the shows resident butt monkeys and woobies in general could count.
** About fifty percent of what Princess Celestia says, could qualify.
** In "Big Sister is Watching", when Applejack comes home to see Apple Bloom making a mess in the kitchen, Apple Bloom says at least she hasn't seen what's happened to the living room yet. Cue the living room exploding, with ''Winona's corpse flying across the screen, smashing into the wall, and leaving a bloody smear as it slides down''.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: [[LargeHam The Orb]] has become really popular among the viewers. "The Longest Recap" even lampshades it, with Sweetie Belle wondering how the heck the Orb became so popular.
* FandomRivalry:
** Judging from the Youtube comments, a vocal segment of ''UFP'' fans really dislike ''WebVideo/FriendshipIsWitchcraft'', much more than Wacarb does.
** Thankfully, others agree [[TakeAThirdOption they are both good in their own way]].
* HilariousInHindsight:
** "The Canon Has Misfired", released August 2012: Twilight asks Rarity for a stealth mission outfit, and Rarity volunteers a gimp suit. [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS3E5MagicDuel "Magic Duel"]], broadcast November 2012: Rarity's "dangerous mission outfit" for Fluttershy is a black, hooded suit with gratuitous bunny ears and no holes for Fluttershy's wings. ''Coincidence?'' ...Probably.
** Episode 2, "Fillen' Dem Plot Holes, Bro!" includes one caption: "I miss the days when plot hole meant something different" (i.e. the days before [[Memes/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic "plot" was slang for "pony butt"]]). Much later, "The Longest Wedding" featured the exchange:
-->'''Cadance:''' {{The power of love}} will fill all plot holes!\
'''Shining Armor:''' Yes, Cadance! Fill my plot hole with love!
** When "Hippocritic Oafs" introduces Blue Twilight, Wacarb jokes that he's got 2/5ths of a set of Twilight Rangers. Then canon completed the set by introducing Sunset Shimmer, Starlight Glimmer, and Moondancer--aka Orange Twilight, Pink Twilight, and Yellow Twilight.
** In "Faith to Faith", Pinkie "makes Creator/LittleKuriboh proud" by quoting [[WesternAnimation/{{Futurama}} "Shut up and take my money!"]]. While everyone else finds it hilarious, Applejack thinks it's a comedic copout. The next two episodes ("Reading to Rainbow" and "Pirate Shipping") both featured [[TheStinger stingers]] involving scenes redubbed with ''Futurama'' audio.
** "The Cheesen One" (released September 2013) suggests that cheese is important to Rainbow Dash, since it figured prominently in her mother's FinalSpeech: "Life is like a wheel of cheese... and you have to eat the cheese before it gets moldy." In [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS4E12PinkiePride "Pinkie Pride"]] (released February 2014), a giant cheese wheel features in Rainbow Dash's birth-iversary celebration.
** "Stranger Than [=FanFiction=]" introduced "Yellow Twilight" who was represented by footage of a yellow pony toy, and who wrote a SelfInsertFic where Purple Twilight has a crush on her. Then in [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS5E12AmendingFences "Amending Fences"]] Moondancer, (an unseen pony mentioned in episode one) was finally revealed to look just like Twilight, but with a yellow coat. And Moondancer's behavior was surprisingly consistent with the interpretation that she used to have a crush on Twilight.
*** On a slightly different note, the ''canon'' show actually gets an episode entitled "Stranger Than [=FanFiction=]", the same name as the aforementioned UFP episode, initially airing in July of 2016.
** In "More Weeds", Rainbow Dash [[AchievementsInIgnorance survives a fatal shooting]] because she's literally too dumb to die. Twilight Sparkle is particularly angry about Dash doing this. But in "Rainbow V Daring", Twilight also winds up being too dumb to die, though in a more mundane fashion: she tries to commit suicide and completely bungles it.
** In [[http://duckyworth.deviantart.com/journal/Duckyworth-s-Thoughts-Equestria-Girls-2013-440733695 Duckyworth's review of]] ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyEquestriaGirls'', he constantly calls his personal [[TheScrappy scrappy]] of the film, Sunset Shimmer, 'Slutset Sh***er'. In ''UFP The Movie: The Moviening'', just about everyone, including Sunset herself, accidentally mispronounces her name as 'Sunsh** Sh***er'.
** When Pinkie and her first clone start saying "Bro!" at each other in "I am Pinkie", a caption pops up saying, "At least it's not two Rainbow Dashes." Come "Rainbow V Daring", Daring Do is essentially a second Rainbow Dash, and when they start spewing nonsense at each other, the captions plead for it to stop.
** In season four, Applebloom lies about Granny Smith having a leg injury, so she can get money out of Twilight. Cut to season six of the actual show, where Applejack shares with her the story of how she learned never to tell a lie, which also involves a lie about Granny Smith being ill.
** As of season six and seven of the actual show, both Applebloom and Applejack have been seen acting like pirates, something UFP Big Mac would approve of.
** It's been a recurring joke since the third episode that Rainbow Dash's parents died (apparently giving birth to her), she shuffled around through so many foster families, none of which wanted her, and she's desperate to find parents. In canon, it's revealed that Rainbow Dash has the exact ''opposite'' problem with her parents.
* JerkassWoobie:
** Twilight is a KnowNothingKnowItAll, who abuses her adopted son, Spike, as well as her friends. But, considering she's already hated by the entire town for it, is banished there by Celestia, (and later to the crystal kingdom, ForTheEvulz), and Celestia has a creepy crush on her, all on top of being surrounded by general craziness, It's hard not sympathize with her sometimes.
** Also, Pinkie was an annoying sociopathic {{Jerkass}} the whole series. But after [[spoiler: she dies, and is unceremoniously replaced with Pinkie II]], it's also hard not pity her. The worst part: [[spoiler: She's sent to pony hell.]] Which apparently is still marginally better then Ponyville.
** Rainbow Dash is a crazy annoying jerk, but considering that she's also TheFriendNobodyLikes, ButtMonkey, has NoSocialSkills, AND had a HilariouslyAbusiveChildhood, it's hard to blame her for being a little messed up.
* MoralEventHorizon:
** [[spoiler: Twilight ''murdering Pinkie Pie'', simply because she annoyed her, before blasting away all her clones and just keeping the last one as her replacement, is either this or CrossesTheLineTwice.]]
** Spitfire abandoning her own daughter for ten years, while telling her husband she was dead, only to bring her back, just to make Rainbow Dash jealous.
** Also, [[spoiler: Rarity murdered '''babies''' to get material for a fashion show.]] Apparently Wacarb's idea for CharacterDevelopment is to crank up their depravity.
* OneSceneWonder: Rose appears for all of one scene in season two, yet she was memorable enough to get an entry on the character page.
