* AlternateCharacterInterpretation:
** The man seemingly seeking help to find his lost puppy during the "Tricky People" number might actually be legit and really is looking for his puppy.
** Even if his interest in his child friends is not as {{Squick}} as Charming's, Yello Dyno is still incredibly insistent that these kids practice long hours to play in his (evidently very successful) band for apparently no compensation. Is Dyno genuinely concerned for these kids, or is he mad that Charming is interrupting the progress of his musical cash cow?
** There's also the possibility that he's just out to cover his own ass and brand name, given that even in-universe, he's trying to sell his musical act against stranger danger, but has [[MemeticLoser failed to keep no less than two children away from the same predator while they were under his care.]]
** Viewers seem to be divided on whether Wendell was a dangerous (albeit stupid and incompetent) predator himself who escaped justice, a co-dependent enabler who helped Charming get away with awful things despite feeling guilty about it, or just a completely oblivious dimwit who didn't realize what was happening and would be horrified if he knew what Charming was really doing.
* {{Anvilicious}}: Stay away from "tricky people."
* BrokenAesop: Yello Dyno's advice is to simply "take three steps back" and "run like the wind", but when Lyric tries it on Reginald Charming, he either frightens her into submission or overpowers her physically. She's only saved from a horrible fate by Yello Dyno himself.
* DontShootTheMessage: [[http://safelyeverafter.com/tips.html Child safety experts]] do in fact say that cautioning children about “Tricky People” is a much more helpful lesson than TooSmartForStrangers, as children should be aware of suspicious ''behavior,'' which can come from people they know, as opposed to telling them that every single person they don't know can't be trusted. As for how that message is presented in this show, now...
* HarsherInHindsight: The fact that the main villain is a successful music producer and executive was meant to make it more surprising he was a predator. However, after high-profile incidents involving the likes of Harvey Weinstein and Jeffrey Epstein, the movie now hits much closer to home. Not to mention Music/RKelly, whose crimes hit even closer, having been a recording artist and music producer himself.
* MemeticMutation: Referring to sexual predators as [[InsistentTerminology tricky people]].
* {{Narm}}:
** A StrangerDanger PSA with upbeat musical numbers, a TotallyRadical mascot, and a BumblingSidekick for the villain is funny. All of that contrasted against a serious, realistic portrayal of a sexual predator is [[MoodWhiplash hilarious]].
** An [[AvertedTrope aversion]] is attempted in the scene following the "Safely Held in Your Heart" number, in which much of Yello Dyno is conspicuously cut out of view from the camera as he comforts Carmen. However, the effort is ultimately cancelled out by the sight of Dyno's big, yellow arm wrapping around Carmen in consolation.
** In both the "Safely Held in Your Heart" scene, and the climactic storming of Reginald Charming's office, Yello Dyno is much more serious than elsewhere in the movie, a fact betrayed by the Dyno suit still having a huge, open-mouthed, friendly smile.
* NightmareFuel: Charming corners Carmen early in the film and proceeds to blackmail her with photographs he's taken of her. The viewer isn't allowed to see the photographs, heavily implying that he possess ''child pornography'' of her. This scene was cut from a later version of the film for being easily the most disturbing moment in it.
* ParanoiaFuel:
-->'''Yello Dyno:''' "Tricky, tricky, tricky, tricky people! Everywhere you look, it could be another tricky person!"
* {{Squick}}: Reginald Charming's behavior makes a good number of scenes centering on him rather uncomfortable, especially since their tone clashes so heavily with the rest of the PSA.
* TearJerker: The "Safely Held in Your Heart" number. Carmen feels totally broken after her encounter with Charming, and contemplates the fact that she's too afraid to tell her parents what happened. As she grieves over the loss of her childhood innocence, we're shown a montage of the actress's ''actual'' childhood photos. For a silly little PSA starring a TotallyRadical dinosaur, this is surprisingly heartbreaking stuff.
-->'''Carmen:''' I'm not a little girl anymore...
** Mention must also be given to what immediately follows this, as Yello Dyno notices her pain and approaches to ask if she's alright. She delivers the above line, and he immediately realizes what she's talking about, offers her a hug, and assures her that it was ''not'' her fault. Notably, the camera keeps his goofy smiling face completely out of frame the entire time, and his voice is much more solemn and soft.
---> '''Yello Dyno:''' "Hey. It wasn't your fault, okay?"
---> ''*Carmen cries as she hugs him*''
---> '''Yello Dyno:''' "We need to tell your mom and dad..."
* TheWoobie:
** The man looking for his lost puppy, if the above AlternateCharacterInterpretation is true.
** Poor Carmen was abused by Charming and spends most of the special feeling ashamed of herself. It's disturbingly realistic for a character in a PSA with a yellow dinosaur.
* WhatDoYouMeanItsForKids For a PSA aimed at children, it gets a bit TOO real, even for your average children's PSA. It's one thing to discuss how kids are groomed and sexualized by predators, but the fact that they demonstrate this by having Charming put kids in wildly inappropriate makeup and outfits makes things wildly uncomfortable. There was a re-titled release of the PSA that cut down on the most disturbing stuff, mainly cutting a subplot where Charming takes compromising pictures of one of the kids and then blackmails her with them.
