Context YMMV / TomorrowsPioneers

Go To

* AngstWhatAngst: Saraa isn't really affected that much by the increasingly tragic deaths of her co-hosts.
* {{Anvilicious}}: The show is basically one giant AuthorTract on the part of Hamas, and every character has a LiteralSoapboxSpeech at some point about how virtuous the party line is.
* DeathOfTheAuthor: Without the context, chunks of the show can come off as a parody. Even knowing that it's not, some Western viewers can't help feeling like a good portion of the series is unintentional comedy gold.
* DontShootTheMessage: Among Palestinians and their supporters: The Palestinian Authority (governed by the moderate Fatah) famously hated the show, considering it counterproductive to any sort of negotiations with Israel, and tried many times to shut it down. Many ordinary Palestinians also decry the show for making them look like laughingstocks at best and dangerous religious fanatics at worst; a sentiment shared by most Palestinian advocacy groups, as well as Westerners who are sympathetic towards the Palestinians and their struggles.
* FirstInstallmentWins: While most people are familiar with the first season of the show with Farfour in it, fewer are even aware that Tomorrow's Pioneers lasted much longer than one season and is possibly still on-going as of now.
* {{Narm}}: Despite the show's extremely violent rhetoric, many of the show's attempts at actual violence or dramatic moments, such as Farfour getting beaten to death, are often unintentionally comical.
* OvershadowedByControversy: As Hamas-inspired propaganda meant for preschoolers, it was heartily criticized in the West for its anti-Semitic and anti-American themes, [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking as well as for ripping off]] WesternAnimation/MickeyMouse.
* PeripheryDemographic: An ironic example. Even knowing the disturbing context, some Westerners and even Jews just can't help finding some scenes and/or the concept of a terrorist Micky Mouse absolutely hysterical.
* SignatureScene:
** Farfour pretending to throw a grenade and shooting an AK-47 has become of the show's most iconic moments. To the point where it's the image on the show's Wikipedia page.
** The deaths of the co-hosts are some of the most famous scenes. Most notable among them is Farfour getting beaten to death by an Israeli secret agent.
* TearJerker: The death of Assoud, since this is the first and perhaps only time that Saraa (in contrast to Farfour and Nahoul's deaths) [[OOCisSeriousBusiness expresses any form of sadness]] about the lost of her co-host.
* ThisIsYourPremiseOnDrugs: The show is basically a hardline Islamic fundamentalist ''Series/SesameStreet''.
* TooBleakStoppedCaring: Since the main conflict is between DesignatedHero Palestinian Muslim supremacists and StrawmanPolitical Israeli Jewish supremacists, you probably wouldn’t want anyone to triumph.
* ValuesDissonance:
** The show completely revolves around encouraging kids to engage in violent resistance to Israeli occupation and embrace religious fundamentalism, and frequently depicts its child-friendly characters talking about, engaging in or being subjected to gratuitous violence. Unsurprisingly, this does not play well with most audiences, especially in the West or [[DontShootTheMessage even in Palestine itself]].
* WhatDoYouMeanItsForKids: The show is rife with realistic violence and openly encourages its child audience to literally take up arms on behalf of Hamas. Needless to say: [[NotYourDaddysX This ain't your]] ''WesternAnimation/BluesClues''.
