* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofA3URC1wyk All For Love]]", a powerful rock ballad performed over the end credits by Music/BryanAdams, Music/RodStewart and Music/{{Sting}}.
* HilariousInHindsight:
** They cast Creator/CharlieSheen as Aramis. The musketeer who became a ''priest''.
** Many, ''many'' of Athos' scenes are evocative of ''Series/TwentyFour''.
** There is a katana-wielding ninja fighting the musketeers in this film. Many years later, Spain would pull out an entire [[Series/AguilaRoja TV series]] out of that.
* HoYay: Porthos and Aramis, all over the place. They clearly have a closer relationship with each other than they do with Athos (high-fiving with their swords, for one), which really comes out in the "there is a God" scene.
* RetroactiveRecognition: Creator/GabrielleAnwar and Creator/PaulMcGann both show up in this film.
* SpiritualSuccessor:
** There is an argument to be made that this serves as one to ''Film/RobinHoodPrinceOfThieves''. (Adaptations of classic swashbuckling adventures, Creator/MichaelWincott as the major supporting antagonist, a score by Music/MichaelKamen, a pop song attached featuring Music/BryanAdams, etc).
** Some, including Creator/LeonardMaltin, compared the film to ''Film/YoungGuns'', largely due to the presence of Creator/KieferSutherland and Creator/CharlieSheen.
* TearJerker: [[spoiler: Athos being forced to witness Milady de Winter's execution when she refused to reveal what the Cardinal is planning. But in the last moment, Athos stops the headsman and begs Milady de Winter to forgive him, she does and says the Cardinal plans to assassinate the king. And then [[DrivenToSuicide falls to her death]].]]
* UnexpectedCharacter: Considering Lord de Winter tends to be AdaptedOut, he surprisingly show up here complete with his vendetta against Milady.
