* BizarroEpisode: "Chalet 2000", which was one long Buddy Cole sketch (with its own credit sequence), and to top it off, Queen Elizabeth appears and ends up sleeping with a talking beaver.
* CrossesTheLineTwice: The source of much of the show's humor, often to make a point.
** A great example is "Screw You, Taxpayer!", which begins as a sketch in which Mark shows up to take out Scott and Dave's daughter, only to find that she's been dead for two years. He explains that this was because of "rickshaw trouble" (cue Bruce as a horribly stereotyped Chinese FunnyForeigner) but then they agree that he can take Karen out--and hand him a giant urn containing her ashes, along with a condom in case he gets "carried away". Mark then steps out of the sketch and explains to the camera that although that sketch was awful, every Canadian is entitled to complain about it because they pay for the CBC with their taxes. He then goes around the studio pointing out how expensive the sketch was to make, all of it interspersed with the audience chanting the sketch title in unison.
* GrowingTheBeard: There's a body of opinion that holds that the show did this in Season 2, after they'd run out of using their old stage sketches and were coming up with new ones that were specifically designed for TV. They also discarded the Season 1 design aesthetic of trying to make the show look like they'd scrounged all its sets from a junkyard, and aimed for greater realism.
* HarsherInHindsight:
** Many of the sketches dealing with family dynamics, when it's clear that several of the troupe had awful childhoods.
** Anticipated in the public television fundraising parody sketch.
--> '''Mark:''' Call in now! Unless this is a rerun. In which case I wonder if I'm dead.
* HilariousInHindsight: In a sketch, Bruce plays a guy who gets in a street brawl in a back alley, and won't stay down no matter how many times he gets punched to the ground. About 3 minutes in, even the crowd is asking him to just stay down. Even a hallucination of UsefulNotes/ElizabethII appears to tell him to stay down. Then ''Film/CaptainAmericaTheFirstAvenger'' has a scene where Steve is in an alley fight, keeps getting his ass kicked (this is of course before he became the super soldier), and won't stay down.
* HoYay: And not just in the sketches. Dave Foley is probably more responsible for people questioning their sexuality than any other Kid. [[http://www.vanityfair.com/online/oscars/2009/12/dave-foley-finds-the-funny-in-aids-abortion-and-glenn-beck.html According to him]], crew members were suspiciously nicer to him when he'd be in drag.
-->'''Dave Foley:''' "Kevin got a little obsessed with some of the women I’d play. He’d stare at me with these puppy dog eyes. Even some of the crew members would come in and go, “You gonna be that redhead tonight?” If I said no, they’d get all sad."
* MemeticMutation: "I CRUSH your head! Crush, crush, crush!"
* OneSceneWonder: Paul Bellini, though he does get a DayInTheLimelight sketch in the "Touch Paul Bellini" contest, which is reprised for the revival season as "''Paint'' Paul Bellini".
** He's credited as a writer on the show. He was probably the only one (other than the five cast members) willing to appear in public in nothing but a towel.
** He also had the last line of the show, while dancing on the Kids' grave.
--->'''Paul:''' Thank ''God'' that's finally over!
** In the 2022 series, he also is called upon to unbury the cast, operating heavy equipment in a towel and hard hat.
--->'''Paul:''' You asked for it.
** The late Tracy Wright, who played Sandra in “The Affair”, arguably the most memorable female character in a [=KitH=] sketch to be played by an actual woman.
** Some of the Kids' own one-shot characters could also qualify. The Eradicator only ever appeared in a sketch in the very first episode, but he was so fondly-remembered by fans and audiences that they ended up bringing him back for the revival season.
* RetroactiveRecognition:
** A pre-''Film/{{Scream}}'' Creator/NeveCampbell appears in one sketch as a schoolgirl [[spoiler: who turns to be a murderess.]]
** Nicole de Boer appears three times as the girlfriend of recurring character Bobby Terrance. De Boer would go on to appear in the cult film ''Film/{{Cube}}'' and as Ezri Dax in the final season of ''Series/StarTrekDeepSpaceNine''.
