* EnsembleDarkhorse: Rowsdower!
--> "Just between you and me and the wall, I think a major error was made in their film archetype-ology. Zap was clearly supposed to be the intermediary guy; the hard-drinking, tough-but-lovable, car-won't-start sidekick to the hero. However, we were short one hero, and its not 'till the end of the movie that you realize that Troy and Zap's journey isn't to bring Troy to the hero (to whom Zap should be the sidekick), but in fact, Zap is the hero..." - Mary Jo Pehl
** Pipper, as well. On the [=MST3K=] episode, Mike and the Bots instantly crack up at his grizzled appearance and scratchy Red Green/Tom Waits/Yosemite Sam-esque voice.
* FanNickname: Garth Vader, for Satoris.
* HilariousInHindsight: A teen on the run hides out in the back of a burly Canadian drifter's truck, gets discovered and is allowed to ride in the cab because the guy is a JerkWithAHeartOfGold. The two are attacked by an DiabolicalMastermind with supernatural abilities who wants the teen as part of a bid to rule the world, and become FireForgedFriends. The guy also has a MysteriousPast, is TheAtoner, and has a funny haircut, and the movie ends up riffed by the guys from Series/MysteryScienceTheater3000. The Final Sacrifice, or Film/XMen1?
* MemeticBadass: Rowsdower, in terms of popularity, might be up there with Torgo.
* MemeticMutation: "Rowsdower!"
* Narm[=/=]NarmCharm: "I'm Rowsdower. Zap Rowsdower!"
* OneSceneWonder: Mike Pipper has only a few minutes of screentime... but he's friggin hilarious.
* SoBadItsGood: It's one of the few movies to appear on MST3K that seems watchable on its own. Even Crow admits it's really not as awful as the usual [=MSTed=] flick. Much like Film/WhoKilledCaptainAlex, it's hard to hate this movie simply because you get the impression that the cast and crew really wanted to make a decent film, but just couldn't afford to.
* ThisIsYourPremiseOnDrugs: It's like Franchise/IndianaJones, in Canada, on Valium. With a $29.50 budget.
* TookTheBadFilmSeriously: Bruce J. Mitchell's performance as Zap Rowsdower is arguably one of the better ones to be featured on [=MST3K=]. One gets the sense that he was fully committed to the role and had the skills to do drama, particularly when Pipper tells Rowsdower not to let the cult destroy his life and Rowsdower responds, "It already has".
* VindicatedByCable: The MST3K showings rescued the film from total obscurity, though mostly outside of Canada, where [=MST3K=] itself was more obscure and the uncut version received occasional airplay on local television.
