!!Music/MyChemicalRomance album:
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The ''entire album'' is arguably this. It is definitely one of the most iconic albums of the late 2000s, and one can tell MCR put a lot of thought and heart into it.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMoments: From ''Welcome to the Black Parade:''
-->'''Gerard Way:''' "Just a man, I'm not a hero, '''''[[ShutUpKirk I!]]''''' '''''[[PunctuatedForEmphasis DON'T!]]''''' '''''[[ShutUpHannibal CARE!]]'''''"
* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfUgBbuSTPQ YouTuber Wendigoon proposed the idea]] that, while the basics of the standard theory are true, Death is also a character that expresses themself through the songs, with the tracks going back and forth between them and the dying cancer patient in non-chronological order.
** Another interpretation of Disenchanted and Famous Last Words together is that the patient awakens from AdventuresInComaLand having faced down some of their demons and embraced an attitude of LikeYouWereDying and DoNotGoGentle- the blinding bright lights not being the afterlife, but [[CueTheSun the sun shining through the window of their hospital room]], to find themselves "awake and unafraid" (if a bit confused), with their lover sleeping next to them.
* EpicRiff: The piano riff that opens "Welcome to the Black Parade." Actually, you don't even need the full riff -- the first ''note'' (sometimes known as "THAT G note") will suffice in getting the attention of any MCR fan. Or anyone who remembers when the song came out.
* HarsherInHindsight: "Dead!" is a hilarious and upbeat song with many a clever [[BrutalHonesty insult]] to someone soon to be dead... you remember that the album is about a terminally ill cancer patient.
** However, most of the songs seem to be from the dying patient's perspective. The context of these lyrics is different if [[HeroicSelfDeprecation the patient is saying these things to himself.]] If you look at it that way, it's much sadder, as it sounds like he's trying to tell himself that he sucked in life and has convinced himself that nobody should miss him too much when he's gone.
** The Black Parade itself seems to recall a happy memory, but the actual parade itself is grim and bleak, with the marching band dressed in full black and the procession carrying creepy standards.
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments:
** In the music video for "Cancer" we see a little girl cut off a very large amount of her hair and give it to her brother, who had just come home from a bout of chemotherapy.
** "Welcome to The Black Parade", in its own sense. The song ''begins'' with the Narrator's father asking him if he'll be a savior, the chorus repeats that even if the listener is dead and gone, [[PassingTheTorch their memory will live on]], and later there's a cheer for "all the broken".
* MemeticMutation: WHEN I WAS
** A YOUNG BOY
** [[WesternAnimation/TheLionKing1994 A YOUNG WARTHOG!]]
* NightmareFuel: Virtually the whole album. The video for "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bbTtPL1jRs Famous Last Words]]", both the "official" and "leaked" versions. Various other songs such as "Blood", "Mama" and "This Is How I Disappear" contain lyrics which may be disturbing to some.
** The "Famous Last Words" video is also responsible for lighting Bob Bryar's leg on fire. Ironically, he attempted to keep filming because he didn't want to frighten anyone.
** The abrupt end of opening track "The End" is also a little creepy, especially since it's a song about dying.
** "Mama", not helped by Liza Minnelli's part.
** "Sleep", a song about the Patient remembering his time as a soldier. It's not pleasant.
* TearJerker: "Disenchanted", "Cancer", "Welcome to the Black Parade" and "Famous Last Words".
* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: The album effectively divided the fanbase in two, as while many grassroot fans cried "Sellouts!" new fans asked "what's wrong with it?" This bought about [[BrokenBase The Great Poser Hunt Of 2006/07]].
* ToughActToFollow: ''The Black Parade'' was such a big success for the band, that the following album ''Danger Days'' was a bit of an uphill battle for the band to top. While ''Danger Days'' is still beloved by fans, critics didn't see it in par with the band's other works. Not to mention ''The Black Parade'' was the last album to feature a concrete drummer for the band, as they would struggle with finding a suitable drummer before their eventual break up.
* VindicatedByHistory: Despite splitting the fanbase in two when it first came out, the album is now one of the band's most beloved pieces of music.
* WildMassGuessing: The mysterious way in which the band began promoting the album led to this, resulting in a forest of EpilepticTrees.

!![[Literature/TheBlackParade Novel]]:
* FridgeBrilliance: Belial's nickname for Jordan "my pet" isn't just something he calls her to annoy her. In his mind, he doesn't consider her to be his equal and so she is rather like a pet of some sort.
* IronWoobie: Jordan. Michael is a close second.
* NightmareFuel: Demons can inhabit as many different bodies as they want to so you never know where they are until it’s too late. Your dreams aren’t safe either.
* ParanoiaFuel: Before Jordan learns to sense demonic energy, she has to deal with the fact that anyone around her could be a demon. Anyone.
