Face is terribly embarrassed by his antics and B. A. wants to murder him (more so than usual), but the way Murdock goes about it is just so ''cute''!
5	* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: Murdock. Is he really insane? Is he just [[ObfuscatingInsanity pretending to be insane]] so he can stay in the VA hospital? Is he both, being actually insane but also pretending to be worse than he really is? The A-Team is Coming!]]": [[RogueSoldier Colonel Ivan "The Terrible" Padovich]] is a [[RenegadeRussian rogue Russian soldier]] who even the Soviet Union despises. Having gotten his nickname during his time in [[UsefulNotes/TheVietnamWar Vietnam]] by [[SociopathicSoldier slaughtering several villages]], Ivan hides in Los Angeles with plans to gain control of the Braxus satellite, which he'll use to blow up several Russian missiles and commence WorldWarIII. Willing to kill his own men should they go against his orders, Ivan leads a raid against the military base guarding the satellite controls, killing plenty of soldiers in the process.
11	** "[[Recap/TheATeamS5E5TheTheoryOfRevolution The Theory of Revolution]]": [[PresidentEvil President Alexander Martien]] is [[TheGeneralissimo the ruthless dictator]] of a South American nation, ruling via starvation, fear, terror, torture, and executions. Suspecting rebels, Martien opts to try to kill his way through entire villages to get to his targets. Martien likewise tries mass executions, happily selling his own country out to [[{{Greed}} personally profit]].
12	** "[[Recap/TheATeamS5E10TheCrystalSkull The Crystal Skull]]": [[SiblingsInCrime Brothers Marino and Francisco]] are a pair of [[BadHabits mercenaries disguised as monks]] assigned to acquire an island's diamonds. Taking over the Toga Toga tribe by threatening their leader with death, Marino and Francisco have tribesmen from the rival Toga tribe kidnapped and [[SlaveryIsASpecialKindOfEvil enslaved]], forcing them to work in the diamond mine under harsh conditions, even having them frequently [[ATasteOfTheLash whipped as punishment]].
13	* CrazyIsCool: Each and every member of the team to some extent, but Murdock ''personifies'' it. "Howlin' Mad", right? He's usually CrazyIsCool, then when he [[LetsGetDangerous drops the act and gets serious]] he becomes even more awesome.
14	* EnsembleDarkhorse: Murdock's character was almost written out of the series before it aired, as the producers found the character too "over the top". The popularity of the character among the test audience however convinced the producers to keep the part of Murdock. Fans of the show all over are glad they did.

He spends the rest of the episode feeling broken up over leaving the groom at the altar and even writes the man a letter to apologize. It all culminates in these lines:

And that is nothing compared to the public Culture Club ends up playing for: a bar full of rough and tumble redneck cowboys who think nothing of lynching the team when they believe they have stolen their paychecks, and were originally promised a performance by country singer Cowboy George. And they end up LOVING Boy George's music.
35	* NightmareFuel: "[[Recap/TheATeamS1E5ASmallAndDeadlyWar A Small and Deadly War]]": While not quite nightmare-inducing, sweet, kooky Murdock delivering a funeral wreath to one of the villains of the week[[note]]disguised as a funeral parlor worker and claiming it was a mistake[[/note]]while singing "[[IronicNurseryTune The Hearse Song]]" is somewhat unsettling.
36	* OlderThanTheyThink: The designs for both the GMC van and the white Corvette with the red stripe came from the [[Series/MysteryScienceTheater3000 MST3K]]-featured action parody film ''Film/AngelsRevenge''.
37	* ReplacementScrappy: Tawnia is this to Amy. Amy at least had some fans; Tawnia was just shoved in because the networks wanted a female character (and likely they still needed one because the scripts for the remainder of the season still required one) and wasn't all that capable when the team was in the field. This treatment apparently extended to Marla Heasley's treatment ''behind'' the scenes as well, particularly by George Peppard.
38	* RetroactiveRecognition: Two one-off characters from the show are played by actors who would later land significant roles on ''Series/{{Voyagers}}'' -- Meeno Peluce, who played Joey, Jase Tataro's brother from "[[Recap/TheATeamS1E4ProsAndCons Pros and Cons]]", became the protagonist Jeffrey Jones, and Stephen Liska, who played one of the minor antagonists in "Hot Styles" showed up as recurring antagonist Drake.

40	** Tawnia Baker. While Amy did have some popularity, Tawnia was nothing but a boat anchor getting shoehorned into every situation and desperately wanting to be on the team for no reason. Despite the CharacterShilling she got, the actors themselves clearly don't want anything to do with her. Marla Heasley, the actress, later explained that from the first day she showed up on set, she was treated with hostility by George Peppard just for being a woman on what the cast felt should be an all-male ensemble. Melinda Culea, who played Amy, told a similar story of her own departure being essentially forced on her for daring to ask for something more to do and Peppard pushing heavily for her to be ejected. Both characters existed entirely because the network was concerned about airing a show with so many male main characters and ''zero'' women. Eventually, Peppard won out, but one last attempt was made at the end of season 4 to integrate Tia Carrere's character of "Tia" into the show, but Carrere dropped out due to her obligations to ''Series/GeneralHospital'' instead.
41	** Frankie Santana, a fifth member added to the cast during its last season. His character is almost the same as that of both Face and Murdock. He's Casanova like Face and especially crazy like Murdock. In the first seven episodes of the same season, the writers thought it was a good idea to make Frank a new Murdock to BA (while the real Murdock has been Flanderized into a really sane man). BA even said/make the usual things/threats to Frank he usually says to Murdock. The writers seems to realize it didn't work, so they teamed up Frankie more with Face and Murdock for the remainder of the series.
42	** General Hunt Stockwell, for apparently taking over the show, as well his attitude towards the team. Despite being played perfectly by Creator/RobertVaughn, he still remains a Scrappy to many.
43	* SeasonalRot:
44	** Season 5 had this, with the A-Team being caught and forced to work for the government (and most closely with Creator/RobertVaughn), and then with the addition of [[TheScrappy Frankie Santana]], an annoying mechanic who added nothing but minimized B. A.'s role. Even the opening theme got messed with--they did away with the opening monologue altogether and changed the theme's sound from orchestral/electric guitars to an almost entirely synthesized remix. This unfortunately led to the series' cancellation.
45	** Season 4 was really the beginning of the end. After the first three strongly rated seasons, a major shift began to occur in Season 4, which relied heavily on guest stars and ratcheting up the camp (even for an admittedly campy show). On top of that the show suffered serious production problems during Season 4. Finally, mercurial lead actor Creator/GeorgePeppard and breakout star Creator/MrT began to have serious problems with each other (which caused the aforementioned re-tool, and casting of Creator/RobertVaughn, a friend of Peppard's, who it was thought would calm the waters).
46	** If you asked George Peppard himself, he remarked in his life time that he only really felt the first season was any good, and everything after it was "boring." Why did he do the rest? In his words: [[MoneyDearBoy "(i)t's the first time I ever had money in the bank."]]
47	* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: [[SeriesContinuityError Mo/Maggie]] Sullivan, the doctor from "[[Recap/TheATeamS1E6BlackDayAtBadRock Black Day at Bad Rock]]", won over a devoted section of the fanbase. She's more active and assertive than the female characters often were, and seems even to have impressed Hannibal, given that he asked Tawnia to call her in during a medical emergency. Some portion of the fanbase also enjoys the chemistry between the two of them. Unfortunately, she was only in two episodes out of the entire series (and George Peppard's behind-the-scenes hostility to two previous female regulars would have ensured it stayed that way.)

49	** It's hard to imagine Hannibal getting away with {{yellowface}} or {{blackface}} disguises anymore as he did early in the show's run. The network seemed to be aware of this on some level, as the "Mr. Lee" disguise only appeared once on screen and disappeared from the opening credits past the first season. B.A. made a crack about the low quality of Hannibal's blackface disguise in the very episode in which it appeared, though even the joke itself comes off as bad taste now.
50	** It's also hard to imagine Hannibal and Face being able to utter as many sexist comments as they did back then.
51	** Main characters on network television aren't generally allowed to smoke on-screen anymore (at least not as often as Hannibal), especially when the show is aimed at children.
52	** B.A. thought there was something wrong with the implication that they were gay in "[[Recap/TheATeamS4E10ThereGoesTheNeighborhood There Goes the Neighbourhood]]".
53	** In the same episode where Hannibal is in blackface ("[[Recap/TheATeamS1E7TheRabbitWhoAteLasVegas The Rabbit Who Ate Las Vegas]]"), while undercover Murdock mock-threatens to rape a woman associated with the bad guys.
54	** Murdock also blatantly gooses one of the VA nurses in "[[Recap/TheATeamS3E21WasteEm Waste 'Em]]" (and promptly blames it on Lefty the glove).
55	** Many of the scams Face runs to seduce women would be unacceptable today. In one episode he tricks an old flame into having sex with him knowing that she is secretly working for the military police and thinks they will arrive at any moment to arrest him (in fact he knows they have been waylaid by Hannibal and the rest of the team). In another he convinces a pair of beautiful teenage twin sisters that Hannibal is an advertising executive who can cast them in a gum commercial and they are later seen fawning over him by a poolside in skimpy bikinis.
56	* TheWoobie: Faceman. His father left him before he was old enough to even remember, no mention of what happened to his mother... all we know is that he wandered into an orphanage when he was five years old. From a young age, he taught himself to con people, seizing at every little opportunity he saw, only to miss out on the big ones because of it, most notably when he [[spoiler: conned his childhood friend Barry into giving him concert tickets - while Face was at the concert, a family showed up at the orphanage looking to adopt, and they chose Barry (who was pretending to be Face as part of their deal).]] [[JerkassWoobie Granted, that was Face's own fault]], but that kind of makes it worse. His college girlfriend Leslie (who he called "[[LadykillerInLove The only woman I ever really loved]]") disappeared with no explanation on the same day he was going to propose to her. He [[NeverBeHurtAgain never allowed himself to get too close to another woman after that]], so very few of his relationships ever made it past one-night stands. Leslie's disappearance led Face to drop out of college and join the Army where he went through the horrors of UsefulNotes/TheVietnamWar, including spending time in a prison camp, and then he and the rest of the team ended up as fugitives because of something they were ordered to do (he laments in one episode, "[[NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished Why is it that every time we try to serve our country, we end up behind bars]]?"). In "Family Reunion", Murdock discovers that A.J. Bancroft, a criminal the team is negotiating with, is [[spoiler: Face's father.]] A.J. begs Murdock not to tell Face—he wants to do it himself. But A.J. chickens out and ends up [[spoiler: dying before he can tell Face the truth]], leaving Murdock to have to deliver what would have been good news had it come earlier. Plus the number of times Face has been [[DistressedDude hurt, kidnapped, beaten up by the bad guys]]... somebody give this guy a hug!

62	* MagnificentBastard: Brock Pike is the ruthless head of [[PrivateMilitaryContractors Black Forest]] who, along with General Morrison and CIA Agent Lynch, masterminds a plot to steal printing plate so they can make themselves wealthy off counterfeit money. When Lynch trick the A-Team into recovering the plates for them, Pike and Morrison double cross him, faking Morrison’s death and absconding with the plates while the A-Team is locked away for the sanctioned mission. When the team, recruited by Lynch, track Morrison and Pike to Germany and capture Morrison, Pike pursues them and almost kills B.A. Arrested, Pike [[FaceDeathWithDignity faces his execution at Lynch’s hands with mild annoyance at his incompetence]] before teaming up with Lynch to put an end to the team and cover their tracks. When the A-Team lures them into an ambush in a shipyard, [[HypercompetentSidekick Pike]] tries to reign in the rash Lynch before blowing up a nearby ship, throwing the team’s plan into chaos before nearly killing Face in the ensuing firefight.
63	* SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome: "Are they trying to ''shoot down'' that other drone?" "No... they're trying to ''fly'' that ''tank.''"
64	* SugarWiki/VisualEffectsOfAwesome: Say what you will about this film, but the effects (led by Creator/{{WETA}}, Creator/MovingPictureCompany, Creator/DigitalDomain and Creator/RhythmAndHues) are well done.
65	* UnintentionalPeriodPiece: The SettingUpdate of the "crime The A-Team did not commit" takes place in the final U.S. withdrawal from Iraq, which at the time of the film's release was TwentyMinutesIntoTheFuture and happened for real between 2020 and 2021.
66	* WhatDoYouMeanItsNotForKids: For all its cartoony violence, the series was pitched at a family audience. The same cannot be said of the big-screen remake which was PG-13 rated and full of people actually getting killed.
