* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The title theme since around episode 7 or so is the second opening theme of ''Anime/DigimonDataSquad'', "Hirari." Episodes past that either use part of the full version of the song or use [=ShadowLink4321=]'s fan cover. The closing themes, "Mai Mirai" and "Sunadokei" are nothing to sneeze at either, both also having an English cover by [=Megami33=] and [=Mom0ki=] respectively.
* BigLippedAlligatorMoment:
** The flashback of when Wario tried to introduce Kirby as a potential third team mate to Bowser.
** The ImagineSpot Wario has after [[spoiler:Bowser temporarily ascends to godhood]].
* CantUnHearIt: [=Tigura21=]'s Bowser voice has been lauded as being able to display the many different emotions and facets the Koopa King goes through the series, all with a deep and guttural tone that is also quite smooth. So much so that even to this very day, whether it be ''Brawl'' or ''Ultimate'' machinima, if it has Bowser involved; it will be likely that Tigura will be casted in the role. Tigura's multiple reprisals as Bowser is a testament to many fans considering him the de-facto voice for Bowser.
* EpilepticTrees: Since reincarnation is one of the many overarching themes in the series, many fans believe that [[spoiler:Wario is a reincarnated Pichu.]] The evidence: [[spoiler: both are perverts and also Bowser's best friend.]]
** When given the fact that [[spoiler:the Creator's Triune]] is comprised of trophies fought in the Event challenges, some believe that [[spoiler:Mario, Sonic, and Snake are part of their own Triune, given that all three are fought in the final event mode of Brawl.]]
* EvilIsCool:
** Ganondorf. The guy plans several steps ahead to make sure he can overthrow the creator himself, while also coming up with a solid backup plan after his attempt to brainwash Bowser into his personal pet fails miserably. His AffablyEvil qualities also make him very easy to both love and hate, which is also one of the reasons Link joined up with Ganondorf in-universe. His baritone also helps tremendously.
** [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTwilightPrincess Midna]] also applies. Despite the scope of her plans not being fully known yet, she manages to make one hell of a first impression with her AdaptationalVillainy by constantly mocking and wrapping Zelda around her finger, while simultaneously showing her powerful abilities both as an individual and as ruler of the Twilight Realm.
* FountainOfMemes: Bowser mentions a meme once a blue moon. From when Samus fires her Lazah, to addressing [[Music/{{Hyadain}} his sweetest Peach girl.]]
* HilariousInHindsight:
** Pit has NoSenseOfHumor in this series. Come ''VideoGame/KidIcarusUprising'', however, he is like a rocket launcher of jokes.
** Falco's original VA was none other than Creator/SeanChiplock, who would go on to voice Revali, the arrogant but benevolent Rito in ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaBreathOfTheWild''. Revali is very similar to Falco in both appearance and personality, so much so that [[https://twitter.com/TiguraYT/status/838514989300350978 Tigura would comment on the coincidence.]]
** The voice Lioncourt used during his tenure as Ganondorf also becomes more amusing in hindsight, as it sounds ''remarkably'' similar to what the Gerudo warlord's canonical voice would sound like in ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTearsOfTheKingdom''.
** During ''Wonders of the Miiverse'', Samus and Peach decide to file a complaint with Dedede following several sexualized posts about the former. With the Miiverse service shutting down in 2017 (thereby eliminating the stage's main gimmick), it appears they succeeded.
** Seeing characters in the series interact on Wuhu island in Episode 16 is a little interesting knowing that Wuhu Island would become an actual stage in both ''Smash 4'' and ''Ultimate''.
** Early on in the series, Ganondorf references his design shift from Melee to Brawl by commenting about getting a facelift. Come ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosUltimate'', and Ganondorf is reverted to his appearance from [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime Ocarina of Time]], effectively undoing his makeover.
** Episode 19 centered heavily upon Ridley's upbringing as the "next generation" of villains known as the "Tetra Cardinals" and his newfound presence among the characters, including [[spoiler:the murder of Samus]]. Only a few weeks later, Ridley was revealed as a playable newcomer to the next generation of Smash Bros, ''Super Smash Bros. Ultimate'', and similar to ''Smash King'', [[spoiler:his introduction began with the wanton murder of some of the characters]]. A few days after this reveal, a short video showed Ridley's reaction to his own ''Ultimate'' reveal trailer.
** While most of the denizens of the Twilight Realm are Assist Trophies, there are a few notable ones who exist as normal trophies in Brawl (Knuckles, Krystal, etc.). Several of these characters would actually be promoted to Assist Trophies in ''Super Smash Bros. Ultimate''.
** On a related note to the above, when Roy first describes how they were created in the Twilight Realm, they started off as "balls of light", or "spirits". A very much spot-on description of the Spirits represented in ''Ultimate''.
** In the ''Smash King HD'' episode "Bowser's Butterflies", Bowser has an ImagineSpot that consists of him singing a joke cover of Happy Together by The Turtles for Lizardon. ''Film/PokemonDetectivePikachu'' would later use said song in its first official trailer, where Pikachu is nearly eaten by a Charizard. To put a cherry on top, Falco's original VA Sean Chiplock ended up providing a few voices for the movie, including the Train PA System welcoming the audience to Ryme City, and the Roundhouse Arena match result announcer.
** Wolf's sudden and unusual interest in Wario when meeting him for the first time becomes a lot funnier after Wolf's original voice actor Creator/EdwardBosco went on to become part of the actual ''[=WarioWare=]'' franchise, voicing 18-Volt in ''VideoGame/WarioWareGold''.
* HoYay:
** Bowser and Mewtwo are reaaaally close.
** Wolf has a moment of this with ''Wario'' of all people. In Episode 10, Wolf shows an interest in the fat man's {{Determinator}} status, and even expresses interest in sharing a drink with him if the situation they were currently in was different.
* MoralEventHorizon: Link recognizes he's beyond this.
-->'''Link''': (to himself) Sorry Ike, but I've gotten far too comfortable with who I am now. I'm too far gone. And if that's going to be a problem, you'll just have to kill me. Maybe the ''Link'' after I'm gone will be more of your standards.
* RetroactiveRecognition:
** Before becoming known as the voice actor of Revali from ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaBreathOfTheWild'', Creator/SeanChiplock (under his old alias [=SonicMega=]) portrayed Falco in this series before being replaced in Episode 14.
** Before becoming famous in other projects, Creator/KiraBuckland was the voice of Zelda in this series, lasting almost to the end of Season 2 before moving on. She also voiced Peach in a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ysiBrVRtSA video where she accidentally dubbed over Peach's lines]] instead of Zelda's.
** Creator/KellenGoff, under his old alias of [=Speedjolt=], was the voice of Ness and also Lucario in Episode 17-18, though would drop the latter role due to the strain it placed on his voice. He would reprise once more as Ness in Episode 5 of ''2Decades'' and played the Duck Hunt Duo in a ''Smash King HD'' short.
** Some fans might recognize Corinne "[=Megami33=]" Sudberg during her ''WebVideo/SailorMoonAbridged'' days before she was Princess Peach in this series, where she has also gone on to become Creator/TeamFourStar's Bulma in ''WebVideo/DragonBallZAbridged'' and land professional roles with Funimation. Unlike some of the other actors who have gone on to being a full-time professional, Megami still plays Peach to this day.
** Some fans might recognize that Creator/DevenMack, under an old alias as D-Mac, was the voice of Mr. Game and Watch. Mack had already had big time roles before ''Smash King'', such as ''WesternAnimation/{{Grossology}}'', but would also have roles in projects like ''WebAnimation/{{TOME}}'' as Rockcoon, the second voice of Chef Hatchet in the ''WesternAnimation/TotalDrama'' series, Durant, Joahchim and Volk in ''VideoGame/DragaliaLost'', and Sonic the Hedgehog in ''WesternAnimation/SonicPrime''.
** Creator/EdwardBosco, who was credited as [=Darkwolf=], was Wolf's original voice actor up until Episode 18. Bosco would go on to be a full-time professional voice actor as well, with roles like various characters in ''VideoGame/FireEmblemHeroes'', [[Characters/HazbinHotelAlastor Alastor]] in the pilot episode of ''WesternAnimation/HazbinHotel'', Chipp Zanuff from ''VideoGame/GuiltyGear'', and the Marauder from ''VideoGame/DoomEternal''.
* ValuesDissonance: Wario's constant attempts to get with Samus (including, but not limited to relentlessly stalking and ogling her) is PlayedForLaughs for most of the series. This running gag would ''not'' fly well with viewers nowadays, since sexual harassment is taken much more seriously now than it was back in 2009.
* TheWoobie: Some of his backstory depicts Bowser as this. Happens in the main story as well.
** As of ''Smash King HD'', Ridley seems to fall into this to a much lesser extent than Bowser. He's smitten for Lizardon, despite her and Bowser screwing with him on a daily basis. The way he desperately attempts to hit on her as she hangs up kinda makes you feel sorry for the poor guy.
* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: It's implied that Ganondorf actually tried to be a nice guy in Melee before being rejected by the citizens. This led him to his FaceHeelTurn.
** Ditto for Link. The pressure of living up to his past incarnations and defeating Ganondorf got to him badly, and rejected that path once Ganon told him that he was free to deviate from it.
