* AwesomeEgo: Piper would always piss off Vince by calling him "Junior." He had previously worked for Vince Sr., and had little good to say about his heir. Zero fucks.
* HamAndCheese: Piper was a brash loudmouth no matter ''what'' storyline he was in.
* HarsherInHindsight: During a 2003 interview which took place at around the same time he returned to WWE, Piper predicted that he was "not going to make 65" due to his poor health. He ended up dying at the age of 61.
* HumorDissonance: His, let's say, unusual choice of attire for his ''Wrestling/{{WrestleMania}} VI'' match [[http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1w6z8f_wwf-wrestlemania-vi-roddy-piper-vs-allen-brown_sport with Bad News Brown.]]
** Not helped by Wrestling/AndreTheGiant allegedly deciding to switch out the solution to get that stuff off Piper with water after the match, leaving Piper to go through customs looking like that. This was meant to be funny, but many didn't see it that way.
* LoveToHate: ''Man'' was he a great heel.
* MemeticBadass: In ''VideoGame/SaintsRowIV''. Just how badass can you be when Creator/KeithDavid, another Memetic Badass in the game that everyone respects, respects you? (That said, it's clearly a ShoutOut to David and Piper working together in ''Film/TheyLive''. Speaking of which…)
* MemeticMutation: The famous ChewBubblegum line from ''Film/TheyLive'' has been endlessly regurgitated for decades. Frequently reversed.
** '''[[http://www.wrestlecrap.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/fightingfit0c.gif THAT'S NOT MY DAD!!]]'''
* SugarWiki/MostWonderfulSound: When you hear the bagpipes blaring, some serious shit is about to go down.
* ProtectionFromEditors: Piper rarely did a job, and Wrestling/HulkHogan made no secret of his displeasure at never getting to get that decisive win during their feud. Interestingly, Piper did take a (now famous) pinfall loss at ''[=WrestleMania=] VIII'' to Wrestling/BretHart.
* SignatureScene: The Piper's Pit segment where he smashed a coconut over the head of "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka, sending him tumbling into the set behind him.
** Second place goes to spraying Morton Downey Jr. with a fire extinguisher after he told him not to smoke in his Pit.
** Another oft-repeated moment was when Frank Williams, the wrestler Piper was interviewing, was just dying on the mic. Piper eventually just beat the crap out of him and then infamously said, [[BadassBoast "Just when they think they have the answers, I change the questions!"]].
* ValuesDissonance:
** Some things Piper did in the mid-80s would get the WWE kicked off the air nowadays. Part of Piper's {{Heel}} schtick was that he wasn't just obnoxious, but bigoted, with some notably racist diatribes at Mr. T and one occasion where he angrily used an ethnic slur[[note]]''"YOU STUPID [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wop WOP,]] MAN!"'', which prompted Sammartino to shove Piper across the ring[[/note]] against the Italian-born Wrestling/BrunoSammartino. Then there was the infamous Piper's Pit segment with Wrestling/JimmySnuka, undoubtedly Piper's crowning achievement in {{politically incorrect villain}}y. There, he condescendingly talked down to ([[MotorMouth and over]]) Snuka the whole time and made a huge amount of racist jabs toward him all the while, culminating in smashing a coconut over his head, forcibly stuffing a banana in his mouth, and then [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything taking off his belt and whipping Snuka over the back with it]].
** And then there was [=WrestleMania=] VI, where he painted himself ''half-black,'' in a spectacularly ill-thought-out attempt to avoid the potential racist or white supremacist implications of defeating the AngryBlackManStereotype "Bad News" Brown that fell straight into them.
