* BaseBreakingCharacter: Colleen. You either love her for being a beautiful ActionGirl with a little childlike charisma, or you hate her because she just loves using that childish attitude while being a jerkass with Blitz.
* CultClassic: Has a small, but loyal fanbase.
* FridgeBrilliance: General Parvo's hatred of the Road Rovers and the reason he's always coughing makes perfect sense when [[spoiler: you see his helmet removed and realize that he has cat ears, making him part cat and that he was coughing up hairballs the whole time.]]
* GeniusBonus: General Parvo is named after the parvovirus, which has a contagious canine strain with a high mortality rate.
* HarsherInHindsight:
** "A Hair of the Dog That Bit You" opens with Princess Diana and Prince Charles finalizing details of their divorce just before werewolves attack them. Following Diana's death in August 1997, they had to cut all references to this. The DVD release (which was released years after Princess Diana's death made the news) has this uncut and uncensored.
** Professor Shepherd initially tells Hunter to leave Muzzle for dead when escaping the pound, though Hunter thankfully doesn't listen to him. Shepherd almost sentenced ''his own dog to death'' without even realizing it.
* HeartwarmingInHindsight: The Master deciding to take in Muzzle so that he can have someone to keep him company while the Road Rovers are off on missions becomes this when it is revealed in "Reigning Cats and Dogs" that Muzzle used to be Professor Shepherd's dog Scout.
* HilariousInHindsight:
** The British royal family being terrorized by a [[OurWerewolvesAreDifferent werewolf]]? [[Recap/DoctorWhoS28E2ToothandClaw Where's the Doctor when you need him?]]
** [[BigBad Parvo]] is diametrically opposed to a BigGood called TheMaster. Just one year after the series ran, Parvo's [[Creator/JimCummings1952 voice actor]] would go on to voice [[VideoGame/{{Fallout}} another character called "The Master"]].
* HoYay:
** There are some moments of this kind between Blitz and Exile.
*** In "Where Rovers Dare", where Blitz attempts to kiss Colleen's hand and confess his love for her only to find out that he mistakenly did those things to Exile.
*** In "The Dog Who Knew Too Much", right after Sport becomes the SixthRanger for the day, Exile kisses him on both cheeks. Exile then says he gives his all his comrades 'big kisses' and turns to Blitz, who immediately threatens Exile to not kiss him. Exile settles for a BearHug so tight that Blitz devolves into begging Exile to kiss him instead.
*** In "Still a Few Bugs in the System", after Exile freezes some giant parasites, Blitz immediately runs up to Exile in tears, professing that he will love Exile always. Rather than outright rejecting this (or even stopping Blitz from kissing his face repeatedly), Exile says they need a 'long talk'.
** In "Where Rovers Dare", Hunter's reaction to being pinned down by a burly man is to coyly say "Don't you kiss me" while smiling and turning his head away.
* JerkassWoobie: Blitz may be kind of a jerk, but it's hard not to feel sorry for all the mishaps he endures.
* SugarWiki/MostWonderfulSound: The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n44Mif7C_V0 unique version]] of the WB Family Ent. logo that plays before the show's intro. Instead of the last few notes of the ''WesternAnimation/{{Animaniacs}}'' theme, it plays the same notes as a rock guitar riff, which mirrors the style used in the opening proper. Not only is it an awesome redux, but after hearing it, you know the show is seconds away.
* PopularWithFurries: Being a show about talking humanoid canines, this was inevitable. Colleen, especially, has a LOT of fanart.
* TheWoobie: A few.
** Sport from the episode "The Dog Who Knew Too Much". He was dognapped from his master and forced into being a mole for Parvo. Poor guy could really use a big hug.
** Luka the blind boy from the episode "Gold and Retrievers", who was separated from his seeing eye dog.
** Exile could really use a hug in "A Hair of the Dog That Bit You". He even begs to be locked up because he thinks he's a dangerous werewolf but it turns out [[spoiler: Colleen was the one who was the actual werewolf]].
** Muzzle in "Reigning Cats and Dogs". Stolen from his owner, subjected to an experimental version of the transdogmafier, driven insane -- and then having to spend most of his time strapped down and muzzled so that he doesn't bite The Master[[spoiler: who happens to be his original owner, Professor Shepherd]].
