%% * AwardSnub: [[http://music-charts-awards.suite101.com/article.cfm/the_grammys_51_years_of_bad_artists_and_awards The Grammies hate her, along with all goodhearted people.]]
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic:
** "Silly Eye-Color Generalizations" is enough to show how she can turn an audience speechless with her voice alone. The finale of "Human of the Year" can also produce chills of happiness.
** "Us" is downright beautiful. A lot of her older work also counts; just about everything from Begin to Hope count, though she's very dismissive of her older work. "Better" and "Edit", from ''Begin to Hope'', both deserve a special mention.
* GeniusBonus:
** "Pavlov's Daughter" is about [[StealthPun Pavlov's dog]]: a dog trained to drool whenever it heard a bell being rung. The song has a section in it about the eponymous character waking up, hearing the afternoon bell of her town ringing, and losing all motivation to wake up, instead drooling on her pillow and going into a trance-like state.
** "Samson" features many allusions to the Biblical story and is much more poignant if you're familiar with it.
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments: Regina lives and breathes this trope. She's so endearing, and she always has a [[http://www.last.fm/music/Regina+Spektor/+images/23221547 huge smile on her face]]. It makes you want to hug her and protect her.
** It's worth noting that during her live performance at Lollapalooza 2007, she saw someone in the audience getting sick and stopped performing until they were helped. During this time, she bantered with the audience, asking them how they were doing.
** Likewise, at an outdoor concert in Brooklyn in 2008, a sudden rainstorm soaked the audience. Regina left the covered stage, and returned with a bucket of water, [[IAmSpartacus which she poured over her head]]!
* HoYay: "Hotel Song" features the main character waking up in a hotel room next to some cocaine and questioning who a woman wearing her dress is. Other songs, such as "Somedays" and "Summer in the City" feature the narrator talking about being in love with and going to a protest to rubbing up against other women, [[TheCoverChangesTheGender but Spektor has said that she frequently writes songs from the perspectives of male characters]].
* MemeticMutation:
** From "Your Honor", "I'm a pizzaterian".
** "[[ItMakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext The intervals, they get so crunchy...]]"
** "Someone next door is fucking to one of my [X]."
%%* {{Moe}}: Perhaps accidentally.
%%* NarmCharm:
%%** The [[OverlyLongGag car impressions]] in "Lounge" come to mind.
%%** To say nothing of her dolphin impression in "Folding Chair". Or whatever the hell it is she's doing in "Open".
* SheIsAllGrownUp: Regina was an awkward looking child to put it nicely. [[http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lonao9q28X1qfaa08o1_500.jpg Now, look at her today.]]
* SignatureSong: "Fidelity" is her best-known, but "Samson" is quite popular too. To younger audiences, she's far and away most famous for "You've Got Time", the theme song to ''Series/OrangeIsTheNewBlack''.
* TearJerker: Regina [[TearJerker/ReginaSpektor now has her own page]].
* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: Some reviews have derided Regina, particularly for ''Far'', for smoothing out eccentricities, being overly cute and becoming commercialized main-stream pop. An example [[http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/13184-far/ here]].
%%* UglyCute: Baby Regina. See SheIsAllGrownUp.
* UnintentionalPeriodPiece: "Wallet". Regina would have a hard time finding a Blockbuster store any time after TheNewTens.
