* {{Anvilicious}}: This fic pulls no punches about how WarIsHell and how starting a war for "righteous" reasons inevitably leads to suffering and death.
* DoNotDoThisCoolThing: The effects of the war are depicted realistically and there is a fairly obvious WarIsHell message. Unfortunately, few of the reviewers notice this, instead choosing to focus on the elaborate fight scenes.
* HarsherInHindsight: In ''Pokè Wars: The Subsistence'', after fending off a pack of bloodthirsty [[FeatheredFiend Fearow]], Tracy says "I hope that Ho oh wasn't affected by the dampener removal, I'd hate to see such a great Pokémon like that do terrible things." It's later revealed that not only was Ho-Oh affected by the dampener removal, ''he was the reason for it happening in the first place''. To make this even harsher, his justification for the dampener removal? '''Genocide of the human race'''.
* HilariousInHindsight:
** Pokémon that are willing to attack and possibly kill humans, with many being powered up and driven into a frenzy by a Legendary? [[VideoGame/PokemonLegendsArceus Like that'll ever happen in canon...]]
** There are plenty of cases where Pokémon fight alongside armed humans and in at least one case, use firearms. Now look at what ''VideoGame/{{Palworld}}'' has to offer...
* NauseaFuel: The authors sometimes get a ''little'' too detailed and graphic with the descriptions of what undampened Pokémon attacks do to living beings.
* ShockingMoments: Pikachu's unrestrained fight against AJ's Sandslash is one of the series' most devastating one-on-one confrontations between non-Legendary Pokémon. It's enough to terrify a whole tribe of wild Pikachu into polite diplomacy.
* {{Squick}}: Well, considering the nature of the story....but a non-violent example is Ash's feelings for Dawn. He's fourteen, but she's ten (taken from the fact that you start your journey at ten and she just started hers).
* TearJerker: Has its [[Tearjerker/PokeWars own page]].
%%* TooCoolToLive: [[spoiler:Gengiga.]]
* WhatDoYouMeanItsNotForKids - these pieces of work are ''very'' violent and bloody. As is expected of a war story.
