Context YMMV / Pocoyo

Go To

* ArchivePanic: The original show has 184 episodes and 2 movies[[note]]''Pocoyo & The Space Circus'' and ''Pocoyo's Big Party''[[/note]], on top of there being at least two spin-offs[[note]]''Let's Go Pocoyo!'' and ''Pocoyo Planet''[[/note]].
%%* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic:
%%** Pocoyo does the Music/GangnamStyle. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-kuHq5rJYU It must be seen to be believed]]. The fact there was no censorship involved (thus, the lyric "hey, sexy lady!" was kept intact) is even more awesome.
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5uneG5OZy4 Dance Off]]
* DiagnosedByTheAudience: Theres a large portion of viewers that interpret Pocoyo as an autistic child due to traits such as rarely speaking in sentences longer than one or two words[[note]]It is expected for kids his age to talk in complete sentences[[/note]], having trouble with social cues, and occasionally experiencing motor issues. He also hyperfixates on horses in "Horse!" and his sudden tumbling around and hat flap wiggles resemble stimming.
* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments: At least one every episode.
** “Noise to my Ears” has Pato trying to sleep so Pocoyo, Ellie and Baby Bird decide to sing the duck a lullaby. Unfortunately, their definition of a lullaby is anything but peaceful.
** The creature that hatches from the egg in “Pato’s Egg” turns out to be not a bird but a spider to everyone’s shock. Though it also becomes [[SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments sweet once everyone comes around to the baby spider.]]
** The back and forth with the junk in “Not In My Backyard.” It gets better when Pato decides to push the junk into the sea which the Narrator [[WhatTheHellHero quickly calls him out on.]]
** All of the creations Pocoyo makes in the “Mad Mix Machine.”
** “Pato Underwater”:
*** After growing frustrated when nothing that he brought is ruined, Pato throws a fit... Only to realize that even his tantrums are affected by the water.
*** Pato decides to eat underwater only for the dish he gets to be unappetizing so he decides to try to get the [[NoFourthWall audience to eat it.]] They refuse and ask the Narrator to eat the meal but he states that he just ate.
* FountainOfMemes: As the show surprisingly has MultipleDemographicAppeal, the show's Narrator is becoming more and more quotable through the years. Pocoyo's Surf Dance has also become a fairly big meme trend.
* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff: Created in Spain, it has a really big following in the UK, partly thanks to Creator/StephenFry being the narrator.
** The show is also having a bigger following in other parts of the globe, particularly in Japan, probably due to its cute art style.
* HilariousInHindsight:
** After designing Pocoyo’s race car, co-creator David Cantolla found an antique children’s car that looked [[https://web.archive.org/web/20090219230302/http://pocoyo.blogs.com/pocoyo/2006/06/pocoprops_the_c.html exactly like it.]]
** In “Poczilla”, Pocoyo and Pato pretend to be a giant monkey and a giant reptilian creature brawling in a miniature city. Twenty years later, [[Film/GodzillaVsKong Warner Bros. made a movie about a certain famous giant monkey and giant reptilian creature brawling in a city]].
* PeripheryDemographic: In the UK, the show has a following among the 18-30 group due to the narration being done by Creator/StephenFry.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSong: The episode "Musical Blocks" has a bit of music that sounds a lot like [[Music/{{ACDC}} "Highway to Hell"]]... oddly enough.
** The music in the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlLUWutyWZc&ab_channel=DibusInfantiles "Happy Halloween Pocoyo"]] short is straight-up the theme song to ''Series/TheMunsters'' with some notes changed.
