!! The TV series:

* {{Adorkable}}: Balki, who's innocent, childlike and bluntly passive around women.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: One of the most epic and downright touching sitcom theme songs ever. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOMIjYr28qg "Standing taaaaaaaaaaaallll....!"]]
* CrossesTheLineTwice: Some of Balki's stories about living on Mypos.
* HarsherInHindsight: Balki shaking Larry back and forth like a rag doll in "Assertive Training" isn't so funny when you think about the fact that while filming this scene, Bronson Pinchot and Mark Linn-Baker accidentally injured each other.
* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments:
** Balki is utterly disgusted to find an inflatable woman in the trunk of Larry’s car:
--> '''Balki''': You live with someone for five years, and you ''think'' you know them. . .\
'''Larry''': It’s [[NotWhatItLooksLike not what you think!]]\
'''Balki''': This isn't an inflatable woman?\
'''Larry''': I use her so I can drive in the carpool lane on my way to work!
*** (amusingly, Larry appears just as ashamed, and Balki just as disgusted by this explanation as by the original assumption)
** This exchange from "Hello Baby":
--->'''Balki''': You know, I really admire you.\
'''Larry''': Why is that?\
'''Balki''': Well, because first, you're willing to give up your bedroom to a woman I hardly know.\
''(Larry looks at Balki in surprise)''\
'''Balki''': ... and then for me, your friend, you're willing to sleep on the hot side of the bed.\
''(Larry begins to lie down, then thinks about it and sits back up again.)''\
'''Larry''': What do you mean, the hot side of the bed?\
'''Balki''': Well, about 6:00 in the morning... see that little hole in the drapes? The sun comes through that and bores a hole right through your head like a laser beam.
** From "Happy Birthday Baby"
--->'''Larry''': Why do you have peanuts in your pocket?\
'''Balki''' ''(lying, motioning to his other pocket)'': Because I have a squirrel in this one.\
'''Larry''': I had to ask.
** In "Just Desserts", Balki and Larry share a dance as part of the bibi-babka ritual.
--->'''Balki''': Cousin! You are a man repossessed!\
'''Larry''': And ''loving it!''
** Also from "Just Desserts":
--->'''Balki''': We can't bump the bibi-babka ditty, it's part and parcel of the point-by-point process of baking bibi-babkas!
--->'''Larry''': I understand it's part and parcel of the point by point process of baking bibi-babkas, Balki, buddy, ''but''... we gotta cut some corners. We're talking mass production here.
--->'''Balki''': Don't bring religion into this! You can't bake bibi-babkas without belting the bibi-babka ditty! If you drop the damn ditty, you're doomed!
** In "Up a Lazy River, Part 2", when Larry starts crying about how he's never going to lead Balki, Mary-Ann and Jennifer out of the woods, his voice suddenly becomes this odd high-pitched squeal. Balki's annoyance at this sells it.
** In "That Old Gang of Mine", Larry tries to defend himself by attempting to smash a bottle against a table and wield it like a shiv. The problem is, he can't break it on the table. Cobra proceeds to smash the bottle on his head and asks, "Is ''that'' what you're trying to do?" Balki and Larry then get into a debate about the physics of smashing a bottle on a table before answering "Yes, that was it!" in unison.
** From the HilariousOuttakes:
*** Bronson Pinchot cracking up over Mark Linn-Baker making the sheep talk. In one take, Mark bleats "I love you", which sends them both into hysterics.
*** In the scene where Balki gently slaps Larry with a glove, Mark takes the glove and gently slaps Bronson back. They both collapse into each other laughing.
*** Bronson's inability to get through the snout puff scene.
*** In the outtakes for "Since I Lost My Baby", Bronson and Mark film the scene where Balki and Larry pretend to be Mr. and Mrs. Twinkacetti. Mark puts on a falsetto voice and Bronson keeps laughing. On the third try Bronson still can't manage it and Mark shrieks, "''Stop it!'' '''''Stop it!'''''"
* HarsherInHindsight: Larry callously dropping Dimitri on the floor in "Hello, Baby" is a lot harsher when you think about the fact that the toy sheep is made from the wool of an actual sheep named Dimitri who died saving Balki from a runaway ox cart.
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments: Larry getting Balki to talk about his homesickness in "Beautiful Dreamer". This shows at times he's really worried about his cousin, and it's one of the few moments where ''he'' saves the day.
** A real life example, the last time they do "the dance of joy" at the request of a live audience member on the final show. Bronson Pinchot tearfully giving his usual line "now we are so happy we do the dance of joy".
** The scene during the opening credit sequence, when Balki, having just arrived in America by boat, sees the Statue of Liberty for the very first time. The joy, excitement, and hope on his face can melt your heart.
** Larry and Balki hugging when Balki gets his license in "Baby, You Can Drive My Car".
* HoYay: Balki and Larry, of the KissingCousins variety. The 'Dance of Joy' ends with [[BridalCarry Larry jumping into Balki's arms]].
** In "Just Desserts", Larry does a rhumba with Balki. Balki protests, saying it's too fast, and adds, "Shouldn't ''I'' be leading?"
** In "Since I Lost My Baby", Balki and Larry role-play as Mr. and Mrs. Twinkacetti and they are ''really'' into it.
* MemeticMutation:
** The Dance Of Joy.
** [[https://youtu.be/3P4IlgtwHmA The video of]] the ''Series/StarTrekEnterprise'' opening titles overdubbed with the ''Perfect Strangers'' theme, which was popularized in Website/SFDebris' reviews of ''Enterprise'' ([[TakeThat arguing that it suited the show even better than the actual theme]]), [[https://youtu.be/q8urmYZ8CiU Another video would flip it around]], overdubbing the ''Perfect Strangers'' opening titles with the ''Enterprise'' theme and also working surprisingly well.
* RetroactiveRecognition:
** Belita Moreno (Edwina Twinkacetti/Lydia Markham) is also best known for playing Benita "Benny" Lopez on ''Series/TheGeorgeLopezShow''.
** Ernie Sabella (Donald Twinkacetti) is also best known for voicing Pumbaa in ''WesternAnimation/TheLionKing1994''.
** Rich Correll directed four episodes. Correll is best known for co-creating ''Series/HannahMontana'' and for playing Richard Rickover on ''Series/LeaveItToBeaver''.
** Barry O'Brien wrote 16 episodes. O'Brien is also best known for co-creating ''Series/HannahMontana'' and for co-developing ''WesternAnimation/BeverlyHillsTeens''.
** Robert Griffard and Howard Adler wrote 14 episodes. Both are best known as creators and executive producers of ''Series/TwoOfAKind''.
** William Bickley and Michael Warren wrote ten episodes. Both are best known as creators and executive producers of ''Series/FamilyMatters'' and ''Series/StepByStep''. Warren is also best known as co-developer and co-executive producer of ''Series/TwoOfAKind''.
** Mark Fink wrote two episodes. Fink is best known as co-creator and executive producer of ''Series/HangTime''.
** Scott Spencer Gordon wrote an episode. Gordon is best known for co-creating ''Series/CityGuys''.
* SeasonalRot: The eighth season isn't that fondly remembered since it takes the action away from the workplace and focuses exclusively on Larry and Balki's homelife. It doesn't help that it's also the shortest (six episodes) and feels more like the epilogue of the series. Though fans at least do like that it ends on a heartwarming note with Larry and Balki becoming fathers.
* TearJerker: A few, namely when Balki suffered his first big heartbreak.
** The end of "Bye Bye Biki." Balki had lost his 106-year-old grandmother as soon as she had arrived in America, and doesn't act too upset although he was clearly grieving inside. When he is alone, he talks to her and confesses that he has been hiding his pain to stay strong and so that people won't feel sad.
** In "Lifesavers", Balki is tethering a sleeping Larry to the table so he doesn't sleepwalk and fall out the window. Then he notices that Larry is awfully still. Balki is so worried and upset that he tries checking Larry's heartbeat and breath. It turned out that Larry was still alive, but so deeply asleep that it made poor Balki fear the worst.
* ValuesResonance: "Sexual Harassment in Chicago" has a magazine editor named Olivia threaten Balki's job when he refuses her advances. The episode makes it clear that what Olivia is doing is wrong and that sexual harassment is unacceptable, no matter who is doing it or who is receiving it. What makes this episode especially great is that it came out in 1987, while a lot of fiction back then and now treats [[DoubleStandardAbuseFemaleOnMale harassment or abuse of men by women as acceptable or funny]].
* {{Wangst}}: In "Up a Lazy River Part 2", Larry whines about not being the one to lead himself and his friends out of the woods because he wants to impress Jennifer.
* TheWoobie: Balki at times. In "Beautiful Dreamer" he's shown to be homesick.
