* AccidentalInnuendo:
** While it may have been on purpose, the scene where Jen is in the bathtub where Link is the only thing on her mind and how strong and handsome he is, is at the least very suggestive.
** In her bridal chamber, Jenna is "fingering with the lacy design at her waist".
* AngstWhatAngst: Unintentional example: Link comes back from ''war''. The only thing that changes about him is that he gets a shiny badge on his clothes, which everybody adores.
* BileFascination: Possibly the most infamous ''Zelda'' fanfic of all time. While tame compared to fanfics written with awful grammar and misspellings galore, such as ''FanFic/MyImmortal'' or ''FanFic/HalfLifeFullLifeConsequences'', most people still consider it to be on their level, and as a result, most of the people who read it are there for how bad it is.
* CanonDefilement: According to Jen, most, if not all, of the other games never happened. Also, Link wasn't sent back in time at the end of the game. And Hyrule Castle (as well as the town) are back as though Ganondorf never destroyed them. And the Great Deku Tree [[BackFromTheDead is alive]]. And so on.
* ClicheStorm:
** Dark Link's dialogue, which is full of statements like calling Jenna weak, declaring nobody is going to save them, talking about having his revenge, etc. The fact he sneers and snarls almost all of his lines contribute to this.
** The whole story runs on this. A simple girl of humble origins (and is ConvenientlyAnOrphan for good measure) meets a great hero and is quickly married after they fall in love; she discovers she's the (supposed) last member of a powerful race of elemental-users; unicorns, "griffins," and dragons inexplicably exist so the setting is more in line with a standard fantasy world; there's an all-powerful Dark Lord presenting a looming threat...
* DesignatedHero:
** The Griffins. It's mentioned that the Black Mountains used to be the home of the dragons, but the Griffins drove them out into inhospitable lands and took the Black Mountains for themselves. For some reason, the Griffins are treated as good guys after this.
** Jenna does nothing besides fawn over Link, have sex with Link and get fringe benefits and praise for being married to Link. Every character loves her because it's explicitly stated that they do. Particularly egregious is the king of Hyrule. In short order, Jenna goes from a traveling foreign merchant with a good inn at the castle to the king's de facto second daughter. By the middle of the story, it's stated that she effectively has a line to the throne.
* DesignatedVillain: The dragons. After being driven from their homeland by the Griffins (see DesignatedHero above) they were brainwashed into serving the Dracoknights. All in all, they come off as being tragic victims of circumstance that were forced into villainy, yet are still killed without remorse or sympathy.
* LadyMondegreen: Thanks to Jen's [[RougeAnglesOfSatin misspellings]] of "huge", people have come to joke that there's a character named "Hugh" who shows up whenever a monster is being described.
%%* NoYay: Jenna/"King Zelda".
* {{Padding}}: Nothing really happens until Dark Link shows up.
* SoBadItsGood: On the one hand, it's a SelfInsertFic with more padding than a hockey uniform, which should by all rights not be very interesting. On the other hand, the PurpleProse, misspellings, and all-round weirdness ([[ARareSentence pee monks and tiger sex, for instance]]) are far too amusing for their own good.
* {{Squick}}: The bonding ceremony and sex scenes. Keep in mind that if Link decided to stay as he is, it means [[FridgeHorror he still has the mind of a prepubescent boy as he is courting her]].
** When sending Link and Jenna off on their honeymoon, the king ''winks'' at Link, and Jenna says she "knew what he meant by that." Now remember that the king is her ''father figure'' and he's preemptively congratulating Link on the sex.
* StrangledByTheRedString: Link and Jenna's relationship. Indeed the first words out of Link in the entire story are him calling Jenna beautiful and he asks her out on a date immediately after. Aside from some sex and a few mentions of being sad about Jenna having to leave there is absolutely nothing else between the two between their first date and Link proposing to her. Though the story frequently harps on how perfect the pair are for each other, there's pretty much no actual examples of why they are.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: Link being sent off to war doesn't really contribute anything to the story other than making Jenna angst for a bit and gets resolved in around half a chapter, yet the premise could easily have been a story in its own right.
* TheWoobie: Princess Zelda, considering that Jenna systematically strips her of everything she has over the course of the story -- her friendship with Link is reduced to nothing (with Link referring to her as "Princess" like he barely even knows her), King Zelda pretty much makes Jenna his heir over Zelda, Zelda gives Jenna ''the goddamn Ocarina of Time'' and Jenna's the one credited as belonging to a race who are tasked with protecting Hyrule, not Zelda, even though she's the one who canonically helps Link deliver the killing blow to Ganondorf.
